Our Cat Made Her Final Journey Last Night

Our cat, Momma, was sick with failing kidneys. She was 15, she had lost weight, and was very weak. The last few days she didn't eat, then yesterday she wouldn't drink, either. I held her in my arms much of the day, but she always wanted to get down and stay on the floor near the kitchen door. She wanted to go out, but I kept her in because of her weakness. Finally late last night I let her out. She never came back. I am sure she found a nice spot and began her eternal sleep. Much as I wish we could have shared in her passing, Momma always had strong ideas about how she would live her life. It was fitting that she chose her final resting place, not us. There are neighbors out looking for her now, but I don't think they'll find her because there's lots of woods and hills here. God Bless Momma cat, our beloved family pet, and a loyal friend to everyone she met.

RIP Momma..even though she chose her own place to pass, she is now running beyond the Rainbow Bridge with all of our departed furbabies. I have 4 of them up there to help guide her on her way. May happy memories of 15 years spent with her help you and your family thru these hard times. God Bless

Oh man, I'm so sorry. We had to put down our nearly-15 year old kitty, also named Mama (though spelled differently), same symptoms, back in April. It was brutal (and still is sometimes). Hoping you find ways to cope and revel in the happy memories of your furbaby.

Sorry for your loss, too. Momma had just been to the Vet's a few weeks ago, and had all sorts of tests. Vet said she was nearing the end. The last few days when Momma didn't eat, then didn't drink, I considered a Vet visit where she would be put down. But Momma was stoic and not indicating any pain. She just wanted to be held. I hoped she could pass at home with her family instead of the clinic, where she was always uncomfortable. So I was gratified that Momma got her own choice about her fate.

Very sorry for your loss. It sure hurts to lose a pet. I've lost 3 within in the year. All old and just their time. Shame pets can't last a little longer.

So very sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. We had to put our almost 15 year old dog down earlier this month. She'll be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for Momma.
