LOST - Perimenopausal Thread - please bump if found.

I have a question and really wanted to post on the thread since many sufferers were in one place.

Is anyone suffering from very horrible nightmares with this. Tonight it was so vivid I could not go back to sleep. Asked DH to hold me, he rolled over and went back to bed. This was so real and so horrible. I would rather stay awake if this is going to start happening.

Anyone else?

Seriously the most horrible nightmare in my life. I was in my house and my mother was staying with us. My 19yo was about 6 in the nightmare. My mother was going around the house and doing things like leaving on all the burners to the stove, toilet paper in the toilet, just doing one thing after another. I was trying to call my sister to get her to come over so we could call 911. My mother trapped me in the bathroom and from what I figured out before I woke was she did something to DH and DD. I woke up shaking and screaming.

DH on the other hand is snoring up a storm in the bedroom. I am really afraid to close my eyes. Thank God for the Dis! I am serious. IF my hormones are going to do this, I have no clue how to get through it.

Thank you for your concern and just someone to talk to.

Oh , honey it is just a dream , I am praying are a little calmer? I went through menopause so long ago from a hysterectomy. I didn't have night mares. The nights are so tough to get through.

As you can see, I am posting a LOT. I have calmed down, but tried. I still can not close my eyes and not see the dream. But I am tired. Hopefully it will win out sooner than later.

If you have to leave the light on to go to sleep. I know you wont have any more dreams. Sometimes things that stress us during the day can impact our sleep at night. I am here for a little while longer. I think you will fall asleep just fine.

Thanks. I can turn the light on in the living room and sleep the couch. It is only a few more hours until my husband gets up for work. Then I can relocate back into the bedroom. I was thinking the TV would be a bad idea, so I haven't turned it on.

You sound so much better. I am still here. I had my hysterectomy when I was in my 30's. I was a person on a rampage

The scary part is I am just beginning this journey. Some of the symptoms are classic, others are totally off the charts wrong.

Now that I think of it, I did have a horrible hot flash earlier this evening. Must be a hormonal type of day. You really are very sweet to keep talking with me. More comforting than my husband ever could have been. I am glad I decided to sign-in!

Hot flashes were terrible. I was more scared to have my hysterectomy. I cried in the shower just before surgery. Then the head nurse said I would be there 5 days I said 3 . She was wrong. I went home in 3. Isn't there medication they give now to combat menopause? You can't be that old.

I am 46. The doctor said he didn't feel I was far enough in for the meds, recommended different vitamins. I have an appointment with a Rheumatologist (sp) next week. It's a she. I think I will ask her advice re: the sudden changes.

I absolutely hate hospitals. I had my gallbladder and thyroid out within a few months of each other. The doctors had my husband sign me out early. I do not do well in them. Blood pressure skyrockets and panic attacks can't be controlled. So I get the going home early. I left 12 hours after DS was born.

It sounds like you have been through allot lately. I have thyroid issues. I am 51 so you may still be a bit young. But allot of stress can do things to our bodies. I would try to watch calming things in the evening. I love watching old movies. Or if you like reading find a good calm book. I started working out at curves and that has made allot difference for me in so many ways. Think about your trip coming up. You need to relax it sounds like to me. You have so much running in your mind...I don't do hospital's well either. I am right there with you.

Time for me to get back at Curves. I belong also. I have been trying to do a little computer work at night instead of TV. I have a few favorites that I tape and watch during the day. I have been disabled for a while, so I have that luxury.

Yes, the trip was finalized today. Finally found airfare. My son's girlfriend is singing in the Processional. I really did not think we could afford it, but we found some great deals. Only need our park tickets now and I will book a dinner to guarantee a seat to see her. We can do easy meals the rest of the time. Very short vacation for us, just 4 nights. I also have a weekend with my husband for our anniversary, so I guess there is a lot rumbling around in my brain right now!

I always wondered how do people get to sing in their choir. We saw Mario Lopez do it one year, got great pictures of him. You will have an excellent time with your DH. Happy Anniversary! Do you live back east?
