Some of the drinks have souvenir glasses, the Navigator, themed toiletries, photos, etc. My thought is that if you can afford to cruise then you surely should be able to afford to buy a few souvenirs in the shops if it really is that important to you to have them.
It's not always about 'affording', just so you know.
Try not to alienate someone (not saying YOU were, just saying in general) because they don't think like you or have the same life experinces. We are all not the same.

So that means one should steal? If I can't afford souvenirs I don't buy them. I don't resort to taking things from my room that were there for all guests to enjoy long after my trip is over.

Your thought process began with "I". Though the boards are all about opinions, try to realize not everyone has had the same life you've had and socially judging them does not serve to change the behavior with which you disagree.

Should I really worry about alienating someone who asks if employees will notice missing items from their room? If I'm a bad guy because I call it as I see it, so be it.

You're not bad, not at all. You're just different than OP, that's all.

Nope, not that I know of.

You just take the one from your room and they charge you. There is a little note with the prices for linens etc.

Well I dare the OP to take the red pillow from the bed. Those pillows sell in the ship store for close to $200!

As for the freebies, I'd say the lanyards you get when you check in are free. As are the pirate bandanas the stateroom hosts leave for you on your bed to participate in Pirate Night. I also make sure I take the daily Navigators with me. And because I'm a DVC member, I have some extra freebies for that, as well. I think non-DVC members who attend a DVC presentation will probably get the DVC tote and hat.

Other than the stationery and toiletries others have mentioned, stuff that should be available to the next guests in your stateroom should stay there.

You are creating a vicious cycle. If someone takes whatever isn't nailed down, then the cruise line will raise prices to cover losses And then someone will feel entitled to take things because they feel they are paying so much money.

4 days is so short a time to do all the souvenir shopping i need to do!!

I bet if you asked the room attendant they'd get you as many as you needed and add the charge to your room.

You might be able to pickup a few extra luggage tags with different characters.

So I agree -- don't steal the towels. Otherwise DCL will also switch to more boring towels, like all the other lines.
The fantasy had dcl logo towels in aprile when we were onboard...but the Wonder has generic.

That's probably how full sets are ending up on Ebay.

I can't believe you all fell for this. New to the boards, 9 posts, and this is the contribution? Clearly a bored troll having a laugh.
