They know what was in your stateroom when you came in....and if it isn't there when you leave, they apply the charge to your KTTW card account.

Using every dollar isn't the same thing as stealing property from the ship.

They inventory the room before you are allowed in it (after the guests leave who were in in before you to see if they left everything there that belonged in the room). Then, they inventory it again after you leave to make sure you didn't take anything you shouldn't have taken. If you take it (steal), you will pay for it. They will place a charge on your account for anything that is missing. It's your call...but I'd go with "Thou shalt not steal."

I like to "stock up" on tea bags from the drink stations. You can also take home extra soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and even the remainder of your toilet paper and tissue box. Others have mentioned DCL pens, stationary, post cards that come in your room.

Enjoy your cruise!

Do as much as you can on the ship and you will have so many memories they will be able to fill your suitcase instead of pilfering items that shouldn't be taken.

Go to the FREE Cooking classes. They give you a portion of whatever they are cooking and a small amount of wine and a FREE copy of the recipe. We love these classes and have made many of the recipes after we get home.

The towels actually have the DCL logo on them, which is unusual for a cruise line these days. Most others have gone to plain towels to keep people from stealing them.

So I agree -- don't steal the towels. Otherwise DCL will also switch to more boring towels, like all the other lines.

Just like in hotels there is a list of with prices of the linens etc, should you wish to purchase them.

The laundry bags are very nice, and $5. I use mine regularly.

The Disney Vacation Club Kiosk usually has a free Button and/or Tattoo for the kids if you ask while walking by.

The kids can get some nice little "freebies" in the clubs sometimes when they do craft projects. (pillow case, army men lanyard, stickers, coloring sheets etc)

Sometimes the bars have your traditional (NON DISNEY) freebies (promotional items with liquor/beer company logos)-I got corona bracelet for example from one of the bartenders one evening

If you read the first post the OP asked if the staff would notice if you took a towel. A towel is NOT a free souvenier, so people are not going overboard if their responses. And in another response they are wondering if you put things in your luggage how would they know.

When the Dream first started sailing 'guests' were taking pillows and drawer pulls out of the cabins, butter knives and bread baskets from the dining rooms and, basically, any and all things not nailed down that had a DCL logo or was completely different and not available on the Magic/Wonder.

are the laundry bags for sale in the store?

that might be a cute gift for DD and DS...

4 days is so short a time to do all the souvenir shopping i need to do!!

as for freebies - the CMs sometimes give away DCL pins....
we were very surprised to each get one when we won the potato racer contest for most disney racer!
it's a very handsome pin that i often wear as a lapel pin... and it was free....and we had fun winning it!!! (and didn't even know they were going to give a prize!!)

Get outta here... they're selling them! It was that knife that I thought of when I saw this post. I recall the threads when people saw one for sale on an auction site!

To OP, take what you're allowed, because what you sneak ( whether you get caught or not) will always have that stigma attached to it. Though it may not weigh in you now, it may someday, and it's a whole lot easier to live without regrets than a silly towel!

Why would you want to take towels or stuff from the desk? I don't get it. You want a used towel and a room service menu because you can get it for free? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding. Like others have said, plenty on the ship for free. Some of the drinks have souvenir glasses, the Navigator, themed toiletries, photos, etc. My thought is that if you can afford to cruise then you surely should be able to afford to buy a few souvenirs in the shops if it really is that important to you to have them.
