I have a confession to make.....

I hate the DD, DS, DH etc abbreviations!

There, I feel better now that I've gotten that off my chest!

I don't like DH so I just write husband. But DS and DD are ok by me. Weird I know. LOL

I also have a confession to make.

I went to a message board on an entirely different subject and was surprised to see that people used the DH, DS, DD abbrievations there as well! Considering the board had nothing at all to do with Disney.

It took me a few minutes to realize that DH meant "Dear Husband" and not "Disney Husband" (etc.)

But I still read it that way when I'm over here.

Sometimes I worry about my sanity.

I don't like them, either.

I also hate the term "hubby."

In my mind, the "D" stands for darling not dear. I always refer to "my darling children" in real life. It is generally said with much sarcasm. "So listen to what my darling son did today....."

I hate the overuse of abbreviations but I don't mind a DS or DH here and there. I'll take it any day over "the hubs."

I use it on other message boards but I generally use MH or MS ( my husband, my son etc..). I have understood it to be darling as well. It took me awhile to figure out that it meant Disney here and not Darling or Dear.

I hate them too. I'm old so I hate all the abbreviations. I can't keep them all straight, but then again, I hate the word kids. Children are not baby goats!

I don't mind the actual abbreviations/acronyms/initialisms for the resorts and attractions (e.g. MVMCP, MNSSHP, POR, CoP, TOT). That's basically a kind of jargon.

But I don't like the abbreviations for regular words like DH/DS/DD, etc. And I REALLY hate ressies, souvies, preggo, sammies, brekkies, etc.

But unlike others around here, I like "furbabies" .

And also unlike others around here, I have nothing against the word PANTIES .

I don't want to have to type out daughter son or husband so by default I like them. Although when I type dh I always think of the abbreviation for something else

I hate people who post on the News and Rumors board with a statement , lets say something like "Test Track being replaced with Cars characters", then in the actual post say "could this happen???"
