Hello from a new member

Hello world! We, being myself, wife and 2 daughters, have been to WDW the last 3 summers; 2010 at Hilton Bonnet Creek (nice but missed the benefits of being on-site), 2011 at Coronado Springs (great resort), and 2012 at All-Star Music (least favorite, too crowded and too far from everything). This summer we are going in July and staying at Port Orleans French Quarter; a WDW bus driver recommended it as having the shortest bus rides, if not it still looks like a great resort. We live in NC so driving to Orlando once a year isnt a problem. Anyway, looking forward to learning lots more and meeting more folk who enjoy WDW as much as us. Peace!

Welcome! You've come to the right place for everything you need to know. My husband and I and our daughters have stayed at POFQ. It is a lovely resort. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the boat ride to DTD.

We went from a moderate resort the previous year to the value All-Star the next (trying to save some $$$), so we were looking for the same experience as the moderate; our wrong thinking there. It wasnt bad, our biggest issues were; its a large resort, therefore, lots of people, i.e., pools were always crowded, bus wait lines were usually long, our room was at the far end of the resort so we had to walk a long distance to get to resort dining and bus stop, buses seemed to take 30-45 minutes to get anywhere. Besides those items it was fine, room was nice, theme/decor was great (as most everything at WDW is). I guess thats the kind of stuff we gave up by paying less for the value resort compared to the moderate. As far as I'm concerned, any on-site stay at WDW is better than anywhere off.
