WHEN is CALIFORNIA GRILL undergoing REFURB?!?! - The DIS Discussion Forums

Ok, I see January 6th, 2013 everywhere, but I currently have a 7:35pm ADR on 1/31/2012 that I reserved TODAY! And I hear from multiple people that it may be pushed back. Any ideas or inside info? Just trying to figure this out and I also wanna EAT THERE! Thanks!

Sorry, don't have an answer to your question but i would be curious about this too. That is by far my favorite place to eat and wanted to go in Jan. then found out they would be closed.
I "pretended" to make a reservation also and it would have let me but I had conflicting reservations that I did not want to cancel til I new for sure what was going on.
It does say everywhere including on the California Grill dining page they would be closing Jan 6th but one would think they would have it set up to not allow reservations.
I hope they are pushing it back that would make me sooooo happy!

When we dined there earlier this month, our server said the refurb was pushed back to February, if that helps.

We were there last week. The CM told us they were closing in February until 'late summer.' She said they weren't changing the name or anything like that, just refurbishing.

It's been pushed back to February. I think the date MAY be February 2. All the Disney sites STILL say January 6 though. Do not look for a reopening date yet, all they will say is "late summer." Apparently the roof needs to be replaced, which is a big enough job in itself; don't know if the restaurant will even look any different yet.

Hmmm, wonder when they'll reopen. We'll be there August 12-18 and this was on our short list of places to try.

If you have a reservation, then chances are they are open! If they will not be open on the day of your reservation, they will contact you. Dont worry.

I personally think they will be closed until late fall. I guess we'll wait and see.

We were told this same thing while we dined there earlier this month too. We heard it from 2 different servers since we dined there twice during our trip.

I am so happy they pushed it back, we are going to be there end of Jan (hopefully) and I booked a reservation for Jan 28th. I just hope they don't change it back.
