My neighbor across the street switched from Comcast to FIOS. He switched back to Comcast about 2 weeks later. He said the HD channels were way inferior on FIOS. He's now complaining about Comcast and the DVR. Apparently they can't get him a new DVR with HDMI connections and his current one keeps freezing periodically.

I cant find that article i read about it.
It was about that Verizon FIOS will build lines to a certain amount of people. Once that is complete, they wont build anymore but rather rent the existing cable lines from the cable companies... If i do find it, ill post the link.

I would like to see a link to that because it goes against everything I know about FIOS

Same here.

We switched to FiOS 4 or 5 years ago. We've never had a problem. It's never gone out. We don't have Comcast here, but I do prefer FiOS over Cablevision. I'm not sure if Comcast and Cablevison are comparable. I know that I have a lot more On Demand options than Cable. We just got a new upgraded DVR with a bigger hard drive. It stores a lot.

LOVE Fios. Had it at my mom's for four years, and just got it at the new Chez Hedy. Unlike Comcast, not nearly as much network downtime (I'd say none, but I'm sure I'm forgetting something).
That said, she doesn't have HD, and I don't have cable, so I can't comment on that.

This is false. It would not be FIOS if they did this. Fios is fiber optic to the premise. Cable splits their lines and shares them, Verizon fios foes not share. That is why it is so superior. You may be thinking of the Verizon DSL.

Fios internet is a million times better than Comcast ( or any other cable provider) and if I could get it where I live now I would in a HEARTBEAT. To be honest, tv is tv is tv to me. We get DTV because we like the channels they offer and my husband is obsessed with football. But between cable and fios tv they both were fine. The internet is another story. If you work from home or have neighbors that do, you are going to have a slower speed with Comcast which shares their lines. All is takes is one neighbor that hogs the line with uploading or downloading stuff and you will have a slow speed with cable. We found that on times when the whole neighborhood was home, weekends and snow days etc, we would have terrible service. With Fios is was superfast all the time.
