chocolateMinnie said, "We had promised ourselves that we would try sunshine seasons this trip. We always look at the pictures of fellow Disers and like the look of it. We had pastries from BC marketplace for breakfast and an early lunch here. DD had the rotisserie chicken while DH and I both had the chicken ceasar salad. DS had two of our three desserts - a fruit cup and the New York cheesecake. I also had a NY cheesecake and have to say this was probably one of the best cheesecakes I've ever eaten in my life."

For dinner on Thursday, November 1st, chocolateMinnie & family headed over to the Wilderness Lodge to dine at...

chocolateMinnie said, "We ate here back in 2007 and went for the skillet. Having said which, with recent reviews we did almost cancel. So glad we didn't as we had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a family style USA meal.

DS and I got the refillable milkshakes. Just took the picture of one (the chocolate), which was mine. He also sampled the caramel (not to my taste) and the strawberry (very, very sweet). Would definitely have the chocolate if I went again.

Our server (Freckles/Gretchen) was lovely. She brought out the cornbread and then we ordered a Navajo bread, as DD has been learning about Native Americans and wanted to try this. It was lovely and if the meal wasn't "all you could eat" (you paid oop for the navajo bread...they still offer apps to pay for oop at dinner) we would have ordered more. She was the only person who didn't enjoy it.

For entree, you do choose three meats first (as often reported). We went for the ribs, chicken and beef. They bring this out with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and stir fry vegetables. A separate dish of cowboy beans comes too. Then they return with the other two meats automatically (we didn't have to order them). There was a white fish topped with seasoned breadcrumbs which was really nice but I didnt' take photos and a spicy sausage (more like a Spanish chorizo). You then keep re-ordering whatever you like until you are done. We loved all of the entree platter. We were brought dessert, though we weren't really hungry, and I have to say it was pretty much disgusting."

Can't thank Jabead enough - not only for posting all my photos for me (needing to be patient when all didn't go to plan) but also for helping us to organise our trip by looking at others eats. Unfortunately this looks to be our last trip to the World for quite some time but I'll still be hooked daily to this fantastic thread.

This really is a wonderful thread! I get so excited when I see an update. Just never know what is going to pop up.

Looking at your pics from YS, my DS will be 11 and he "thinks" he can eat that Porterhouse. We shall see next month when we are there.

We have an ADR for WCC. Not sure I like the new layout of the menu...especially those desserts. I promised my kids we would go there, so we shall see how it turns out. I am already predicting getting dessert elsewhere

Honestly the dessert was gross but the menu and platter itself were very nice indeed and we would highly recommend it. Love to think that your ds will enjoy his porterhouse too. It will be a talking point here for years to come

Cyndi said, "Three of us had chicken fried rice and shared a beef lo mein. Just a note that the chicken fried rice is a side but is plenty for lunch. We weren't sure it would be enough, which is why we also got the lo mein. Both of these were delicious. The beef was especially tender. My DS8 got a kids cheeseburger, but he thought the roll was soggy. He also got French fries, which were the shoestring kind and were yummy, also a generous portion."
