I've just received 2 more Disneyland updates from Linda and Nikki's last two Disney World updates, as she is on her way to the airport now on the ME bus. I would normally wait until later to post these since we have wi-fi at home, which is must faster than the internet we have here at the office. But I'm going to go ahead and try to post these now for all of you who are stuck in your homes waiting out the storm. I hope you remain safe, sound and with electrical power!

Last night's dinner was at California Adventure's...



Carthay Circle Restaurant




A Pre-Dinner Cocktail





The Hemingway Daiquiri
Bacardi Superior Rum, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, fresh lime and grapefruit juice and organic agave nectar


Linda said, "Ooh this was just perfect, really sharp and tart (insert bad joke here).
I loved it !!"







Bread Basket


Linda said, "First the bread service which I had to ask for as I was starving and they didn't bring me any. It was sour dough and was a little stale to be honest."






Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad


Linda said, "For my appetiser I had the roasted beet and goat cheese salad - there was a mix up initially and the brought me the wrong starter but we got there in the end. It was heavenly! The dressing was excellent and the little fried goats cheese was gooey and creamy."






Swordfish with a red pepper sauce


Linda said, "This was sensational, the sauce was wonderful and flavourful."



Linda added, "Very patchy service at this restaurant. I have never seen so many unhappy looking servers in my life! But despite the not so great service, Carthay Circle redeemed itself with truly excellent food.
I decided against dessert so paid my bill and headed back into the park."


"By the way Barb, this restaurant is in DCA and I did this meal in order to get reserved space at the World Of Color show (which was absolutely incredible!)"

Linda's breakfast this morning was at the Disneyland Hotel's...


Tangaroa Terrace






Grilled Cinnamon-Spiced Oatmeal Cakes
Served with Island Fruit Compote and Greek Yogurt


Linda said, "Oh my word, why did I wait until my last day at the Disneyland Hotel to eat breakfast here??? These were just wonderful, the fruit compote was delicious and the cakes had a subtle taste of cinnamon and I loved them!"



Note from jabead: I'm waiting for confirmation from Linda that this is her last update of her trip. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from her.

Nikki said, "Loved all 4!"







Lambo - Lamb shank braised in rosemary jus with mash, leeks, shiitake mushrooms & baby carrots


Nikki said, "The meat was perfect, so tender it fell right off the bone."

Raspberry pavlova with vanilla pod ice cream and raspberry sauce


Nikki said, "Good but very sweet."



Nikki added, "Loved dinner at Raglan Road and will definitely go back!"

We'll be heading back to Disney on Dec. 15-21. Little bro thinks we're staying at CBR, but I've actually changed our ressie to BWI with a possible split stay at Contemp.

He's elected himself official navigator for our roadtrip. I am kinda excited to see his face when I abruptly stop listening to his driving directions, act like I am totally lost, and tell him that we'll just need to "turn around in the Boardwalk parking lot."

ALL that to say...Jabead, if you're needing more live reporters for that week in December - we'd be happy to volunteer!

But among today's updates, the dish I'm craving most is Linda's oatmeal cakes with island fruit compote and greek yogurt. It just sounds so good right now.

Chris said, "Two of our group had this and both really enjoyed it."

Chris said, "This was my dish. Man was it good."



Chris added, "We will definitely be going back to RR again!

Hi Barb. Well, we are back home now and just want to thank you for all you are doing for this thread. We had fun taking the photos to send to you. I have to admit I didn't get on the boards while on vacation but I usually don't. So getting caught up tonight has been great fun. Keep up the excellent work.
