Next we have the first update from a new reporter who arrived at Disney World yesterday, #1eeyoregirl.

She and her family had their first dinner at Downtown Disney's...

She said, "I started with the candy apple martini...

...very yummy & very sweet. My daughter had the Discovery Blast and my son had plain ole Sprite."

"My daughter had the kids ribs & my son had the kids chicken nuggets."

"I had the Triassic Trio which was steak, shrimp & veggie skewer, scallop & shrimp in a curry sauce and rice which I subbed with mashed potatoes. It was pretty good and the shrimp and steak were both cooked perfectly."

"My son & I were stuffed but my daughter saved room for the Chocolate Tarpit, which she chowed down. The pic for that isn't as great, as the meteor shower was starting."

I was just looking at the live reporter schedule for the remainder of this month and for April - June, and realized that I hadn't done any recruiting since page 174. During times of feast (as it has been here for the last couple of weeks), I tend to slack off with my recruitment duties. But with a potential famine quickly approaching, it's time to bring out the cheerleaders.

IT'S RECRUITMENT TIME!!!

Beginning with the departure of two of our current reporters this week on 3/12, we will have only 1 or 2 reporters doing live updates from then through 3/22. So any readers who are going to be at Disney World during this time and have not yet volunteered to do live updates, please consider doing so. Also, anyone that has been to Disney World recently (or Disneyland, or on a Disney cruise, etc.) and would like to post their pics here on the live thread (either directly or through me), please feel free to do so during this time. I'm sure the followers of this thread would be very appreciative.

Now moving on to the months of April - June.

Here are the volunteers I have so far for trips beginning 3/30 through the end of June:

APRIL
KMarston - 3/30 - 4/6
PirateRachel - 3/31 - 4/6
jecskc - 3/31 - 4/8
HoneyBeeM - 4/1 - 4/6
mommakacie - 4/3 - 4/10
roxysmum123 - 4/6 - 4/13
emmebear & rachel09985 - 4/11 - 4/15
MickQuinn - 4/12 - 4/18
mousiemom - 4/15 - 4/19
SmallWorld71 - 4/17 - 4/19
Hannikins - 4/18 - 4/25 (WDW), 4/25 - 5/4 (US)
buzz1121 - 4/20 - 4/27
Mommyof3inVA - 4/20 - 4/27
MRYPPNS - 4/21 - 5/5
Rarity - 4/25 - 4/28

MAY
auntfrannie - 4/29 - 5/8
aladdinsgirl - 4/30 - 5/10
podsnel - 5/2 - 5/6
carmie3377 - 5/4 - 5/10 (Disney Magic)
RyMacJ - 5/4 - 5/11
jimnlahaze - 5/7 - 5/13
MrsBearcat - 5/11 - 5/16
Chavaleh - 5/11 - 5/19
CalSea12 - 5/11 - 5/21
quietgirl - 5/13 - 5/20
AvasMommy526 - 5/21 - 6/1
dvc4life - 5/22 - 5/27
buzz1121 - 5/25 - 6/8

JUNE
chloesmommy - 6/1 - 6/8
tammilynne - 6/1 - 6/10
DisneyMamato4 - 6/2 - 6/9
disnmooner2013 - 6/3 - 6/10
sarabear - 6/5 - 6/12
dutchdisneyfamily - 6/6 - 6/14
cindymindy - 6/9 - 6/15
AlohaAnnie - 6/15 - 6/28
Goofyluver - 6/16 - 6/21
JennyWren - 6/24 - 7/1
KateB - 6/25 - 7/1
Incredibleboysmom - 6/28 - 7/2 (Disneyland)

If I have forgotten anyone who has volunteered, please let me know.

So here is what we still need:

April 9 thru 20 - 1 more needed

April 4/28 thru May 1 - 1 more needed

May 17 thru 31 - 1 or 2 more needed

June 11 thru 30 - 1 or 2 more needed

So if you are taking a Disney trip during the next few months, please think about giving "live reporting" a try. Think of it as "tweeting" to a very limited audience, who actually cares about what you are currently doing and eating.

Our First Update of the Day today was sent to us by AuroraMeansDawn.

Dawn said, "We had an early start yesterday and arrived at DHS at 8:40 for a 9:00 am opening and found the park already open! Nice bonus! We made do on coffee and Atkins bars from our room until our 12:10 ADR at Mama Melrose with the F! Package."

First some menu pics...

"We were seated right at 12:00 at a nice four top and Simon our server was wonderful and very accommodating. The bread basket came and I was starving but didn't partake."

"The boys said the real butter was good and the rolls were crispy on the outside and tender inside."

Mama's Antipasto for Two - selection of Italian meats, cheeses, and marinated vegetables

"Dylan and I shared the antipasto platter and it was huge! I don't eat a lot of processed meats so I found them a little too salty but Dylan enjoyed them. I loved the cherry peppers that had a little zing but were sweet and the pine nuts and kalamata olives. There were three wedges of each variety of cheese. One was Stilton or maybe a blue cheese, and the other three wedges were a hard parm. For strong cheeses like that, three large wedges of each was more than enough, but we took one for the team and finished most of it."

Fresh Mozzarella and Vine-ripened Tomatoes with marinated sweet onions, balsamic drizzle, basil-scented olive oil and fresh sweet basil

"Jesse had the fresh mozzarella and tomato salad. He enjoyed it but said it was a bit bland. Maybe a little more balsamic vinegar would help. A bit of salt too, but he enjoyed it and finished it all."

"Simon was very accommodating for entrees too. I chose the whole wheat spaghetti with chicken. It normally comes breaded but I asked for it grilled and with no cheese and the marinara on the side. It was delicious. The breast was butterflied and seasoned with traditional Italian spices. I enjoyed it very much and only added a touch of sauce and it made for a great light and flavorful lunch."

Wood-grilled Tuna over a seasonal Vegetable Risotto, warm Vine-ripened Diced Red and Yellow Tomatoes, and Olive-Caper Butter

"Jesse chose the wood-grilled tuna over risotto and had it cooked medium rare. He said it was fantastic! He isn't one to overly emote so for him that was high praise."

Seafood Arrabbiata with shrimp, mussels, calamari, fish of the day, and whole-wheat spaghetti tossed with spicy seafood sauce

"Dylan chose the seafood arrabbiata and said it was good and very garlicky but had a bit of an afterburn. He likes spicy food so it suited him just fine."

"For dessert we had all asked for the sugar-free selection and Simon was kind enough to forego the assortment platter and brought each of us a sugar-free panna cotta with a cranberry compote. I thought it was divine. It is amazing how accommodating service can be if you ask nicely and smile."

"This blended tart and sweet nicely and didn't give you the massive sugar rush. It was light and tasty. Being Texans, we have a fair bit of flan and it is very similar in texture for those who are not familiar with panna cotta."

AuroraMeansDawn also sent us this update this morning.

She said, "After Fantasmic! last night, we drug ourselves back to POFQ and ate at the food court. Jess was tuckered so he went to the room."

"Dylan had the Creole burger. It's a regular burger with fried shrimp on top."

"I had the Angus Bacon burger and removed the top half of the bun and knife and forked it. Dylan got my fries."

"I also had a small bottle of Chardonnay. I was teasing the kid at the register that I was going to just put my Mickey straw in it and sip til my feet quit hurting but he gave me a glass to class up my food court adult beverage selection."

"Dylan and I split a festive looking but not too spectacular cupcake and grabbed a Mickey krispie treat to take home a friend."
