Rachel sent me her final update from the airport this morning.

Last night, Rachel & family were at the Contemporary Resort to have dinner at...

CALIFORNIA GRILL

Heirloom Tomato BLT Flatbread
with Marinated Tomatoes, Applewood Bacon, Chiffonade Romaine, and Lemon Mayonnaise

Rachel said, "Thanks for recommending this Barb. We really enjoyed the BLT flatbread. The bacon and tomatoes were sweet and the mayo was sour. A nice contrast of flavors."

(Head-on ) Jumbo Tiger Prawns
with Creamy White Corn Tasso Grits, Fried Okra, Espellette Vinaigrette

(Didn't they do a great job of hiding those beady little eyes with the garnish? )

Rachel said, "I didn't eat another dish other than the flatbread but Brian chose these prawns. I was surprised this was his choice and sorry I don't have a good description. I will use his country boy description, which was "big shrimp over grits." Can't wait to see how Cali Grill's description compares to his."

Note from jabead: I'd say that Brian nailed it!

Heather's Chocolate Sampler
Marshmallow Whoopie Pies, Chipotle Chocolate Cupcake, Peanut Butter Buckeye Pop, and Valrhona Mint Chocolate Cup

Rachel said, "This was heaven for a milk chocolate lover like me. The cake was my favorite!"

Sadly this is the end of Rachel's trip, so on behalf of everyone here...

THANKS SO MUCH, RACHEL!!!

Oh, and don't forget to check out Rachel's (Smiling Cheshire Cat) Dining Report to hear about all the details of her trip!

Sunday night sarabear was also at the Contemporary Resort, where she had dinner at...

CALIFORNIA GRILL

sarabear took pics of the menu for us, however they came through to me a little blurry. I will go ahead and post them anyway though, as there seems to be some changes to the menu.

Mai Tai Cocktail

Shrimp Tempura Roll

Oak-Fired Filet of Beef with Tillamook Potatoes, Blue Lake Beans, Bacon Vinaigrette, and Teriyaki Barbecue Sauce

sarabear said, "This was not as good as Le Cellier Filet or Yachtsman NY strip."

And for dessert...

Valrhona Chocolate Cake
Warm Chocolate Cake with Molten Center and Blackberry Citrus Sorbet & Blackberry Sangria Syrup

sarabear said, "I was very happy to see it isn't cherry anymore. It was very good.

sarabear was at Downtown Disney today and had lunch at...

RAGLAN ROAD

Appetizer:

Kiss Before Prawns – Pan seared prawns in a garlic & chili lemon butter sauce with crostinis.
Get your kissing done before this dish arrives.

sarabear said, "Delicious but very spicy. There are a lot of shrimp in there.
I could have eaten that as an entree."

Cluck Curry - Chicken breast in curry broth with onions, peppers, leeks & steamed almond rice.

sarabear said, "This was huge! I loved it but could only eat about half."

And for dessert...

Dunbrody Kiss
Chef Dundon’s gift to America. Chocolate.
And more chocolate, then add some more

sarabear said, "That's all the pics I have. I didn't take pics of food & wine, but I'm going to write about that and post it in the thread once I get home and can use my laptop."

And so that's all for now from sarabear, as she is currently on a flight home.

On behalf of everyone here...

I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor, I was back to pondering my mortality.

I can't believe that Via Napoli is charging $7 per person for a salad these days. That is ridiculous!! It was $4 per person when they opened. So our table of 9 will have to fork out $63 for salad.....I don't think so!

We're back home safe and sound Barb. Catching up on the live reviews makes me wish we were still there.

Love the table of contents. It's fun to compare everyone's experience at the same places.

That's funny that the Cali Grill menus were a little fuzzy but the Mai Tai was in focus for my old eyes!!

I am swapping my traditional choice of the pork tenderloin for the filet next time.

The Kiss Before Prawns sounds really, really delish!

That BLT flatbread at CA Grill was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I'm still dreaming about it two weeks later!
