If you end up trying it, I hope the food is as good as it sounds.

Our First Update of the Day was sent to us this morning by disneybride96.

She and her DH had dinner last night at Epcot's...

La Hacienda de San Angel

disneybride said, "We had the most amazing experience at La Hacienda last night. The food was good but the service was amazing."

They started by sharing the...

Queso Fundido
Melted Cheese with Poblano Peppers, Chorizo, and served with Flour Tortillas

"CHEESE, CHEESE, AND MORE CHEESE. YUMMMMM!"

Then for their shared entree, they chose the...

La Hacienda
Mixed Grill offering with New York strip, Chicken al Pastor, and Chorizo. Served with grilled vegetables and side dishes of rice, beans, and fresh salsas.

"So much food! The chorizo was incredible and the corn had a nice spicy flavor. You need to like spice for this meal, but we did not think it was overdone."

"We ordered dessert, but were so full by then. DH got Empanada de Manzana (puff pastry filled with sauteed caramel apple, and served with dulce de leche ice cream and cajeta, which is Mexican caramel sauce). This was too rich after a heavy meal."

"I ordered Helado - traditional Mexican ice cream, which was really sorbet. It was just right!"

We also received a dinner update this morning from CaliBear.

She and her DBF had dinner last night at AKL's...

BOMA

CaliBear said, "We ate dinner last night at Boma and we loved it. Best meal so far for us."

"Starter plate: White Bean Hummus, Lavosh, Marinated Artichokes, Feta and Olive Salad. Everything was delicious."

Chicken and Corn Chowder

Butternut Squash Soup

"DBF said this is more like dessert soup, but he ate the whole thing so I guess that's good."

"DBF's delicious medium rare strip loin, slow-roasted for 4 hours according to the carver. Sauces are sambal, Boma mustard, bbq, and masai mara."

"My delicious well-done strip loin. I have the same sauces plus horseradish and a side of yummy fufu."

"Left to right: Bobotie, Pork Shoulder, Chicken, and Rice with raisins. All good."

"DBF's desserts: Peach Cobbler and Bread Pudding with rum and vanilla sauces. He couldn't pick a favorite between the two. Both were "so amazing."

"Perfect dessert plate: Cinnamon Chocolate Mousse, Peanut Butter Square, Eggnog Cheesecake, and a Zebra Dome. I loved them all, but the peanut butter one was my favorite."

Kringla Bakeri og Cafe

Almond Pear Tart and School Bread

"We just polished off this treats this morning. They are as yummy as they look."

"And since it was cool last night, we picked up our favorite Adult Beverage..."

Viking Coffee flavored with Kamora Coffee Liqueur and Bailey's Irish Cream

"This drink literally warms you up. I had to shed my jacket. They don't skimp on the adult ingredients."

She was at Epcot this morning and stopped at...

Sunshine Seasons

Blueberry Croissant Bread Pudding & Hot Chocolate

CaliBear said, "The berries are nice. We liked this but it would be better with sauce. We tried a little syrup on it, but that was a bit too sweet."

She said, "I am solo this morning at Magic Kingdom, as the kiddos and my sister decided to sleep in."

From the Lunching Pad...

Mickey Pretzel

And from Gaston's Tavern...

LeFou's Brew

AlohaPolynesian said, "This was pretty good and hit the spot."

Hurricane Hanna's (the pool quick service location at Yacht & Beach Club) reopened today. west&east posted the menu here - apparently there are a bunch of new menu items! Among them are:

-Hanna's 1/3 lb bacon angus cheeseburger with Vermont cheddar and steak sauce
-Grilled chicken breast sandwich with a four-cheese blend, tomato, avocado, and arugula
-Grilled cheese and smoked bacon sandwich with Vermont cheddar, apple butter, and blue cheese
-Lobster & shrimp roll on Parker House bread with citrus mayonnaise
-Chopped field greens salad with turkey, blue cheese, craisins, and orange vinaigrette
-Vegetarian quinoa wrap with roasted vegetables, hummus, and goat cheese

I'd love to try the chicken sandwich, lobster & shrimp roll, or quinoa wrap (and although I recently stopped eating red meat and pork, I have to admit that their specialty burger sounds fantastic ). To showcase some of these new menu items, maybe you could offer an extra point to anyone who hits up Hurricane Hanna's (like with the new French bakery)? It's just a suggestion, since I'd love to see what some of these dishes look like.

Here is a prime example of one of the things I really like about this thread...instant (Disney food) gratification!

And so, I'm very happy to present to you, a lunch update from Hurricane Hanna's, courtesy of disneybride96.

Hurricane Hanna's
(located poolside at the Yacht & Beach Club Resort)

But first a wonderfully sentimental pic from disneybride96, who was married 16 years ago at the...

Yacht Club Wedding Gazebo

disneybride96 said, "We always try to visit and have a smooch."

"Then we played a round of miniature golf before lunch at Hurricane Hanna's. (Thanks to DonaldDoleWhip's previous post )"

"Here's a pic of my DH waiting at the counter for our food..."

And a pic of the nearby seating area...

Plus an "always appreciated" pic of the menu...

And so, what did disneybride96 and her DH choose from Hurricane Hanna's new (and improved) menu?

Hanna's 1/3 lb. Bacon Angus Cheeseburger
with Vermont Cheddar and Hanna's Steak Sauce and served with French fries

disneybride96 said, "Sorry I don't have a big report, as we were both tasting the burger. It was made fresh, but just a typical Disney burger. Good enough. Probably should have tried something more unique."

"Best part was that Mickey ice cream bars counted as dessert on the dining plan!"

Today we received the first lunch update from Le Cellier since the recent changes. With lunch now being a 2 credit meal (on the DDP), they have switched to one combined lunch/dinner menu. This menu does not include my personal favorite lunch entrees, such as the Le Cellier burger and the salmon.

CaliBear included pics of this new menu in her lunch updates, however some of her pics were transferred to me in a smaller size and unfortunately the menu pics were among the mini-photos.

So get out your magnifying glasses and take a look at the new day-long menu for Le Cellier.

What, you can't read them?

Well, just in case you haven't already seen it, I'm pretty sure that this is the correct new Le Cellier Menu.

Regarding her lunch, CaliBear said, "I had many new dishes I'd never tried before.
We started with cheddar beer soup and bread. Delicious."

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup made with Moosehead Beer and Bacon

"Next we had scallops from the appetizer menu. I'd never eaten a scallop and I quite enjoyed this. DBF said they were quite nice."

Seared Scallops with Butternut Squash, Red Pepper Jam, Pickled Mushrooms, and Rice Vinegar Gastrique

"We also tried "poutine" with red wine reduction. I've not had real poutine so I can't compare, but this "inspired by" version was fantastic."

Poutine Fries with Canadian Cheddar, truffle salt and red wine reduction

"We finished with maple crème brulee. This was another dish I've never had in any flavor. It was very good."

"Our server was Courtney. She was very sweet. The house was packed btw, but I did see a lot of people splitting the filet of doing all apps like we did."

Next we received a couple of updates from marshallsmommy.

First was a breakfast update from...

Chef Mickey's

She said, "Wish I could send a cute pic of Marshall with the characters but he was deathly afraid of them.
So we have just two plates of food.
First my husband's plate of meat and his beloved Mickey waffles."

"Then my goodie plate with doughnuts (last year I thought they were Krispy Kreme, this year not so sure). Nothing stood out as must eat. Just mass-produced food for screaming children and their parents."

Later they had a snack from Les Halles Bakery

Chocolate Mousse

marshallsmommy said, "Yum! Not too sweet, but not too tart either. I'm not a dark chocolate fan so this was perfect. The little balls are like rice krispies and were a weird addition texturally when you are thinking mousse."

Next came this lunch update from marshallsmommy.

Tangierine Cafe

Chicken & Lamb Combo Shawarma Platter served with side of Hummus, Tabouleh and a Tangierine Couscous Salad with fresh Moroccan bread

"We couldn't agree where to have lunch, so I got the Chicken and Lamb Shawarma from Tangierine Café. I wish I would have just gotten lamb. It was really good and so was the hummus and bread. The couscous was okay. Not a huge fan of whole mint. It's in a "to go" box because Doug ate in Mexico so I grabbed mine and we trekked to Mexico to eat!"

La Cantina de San Angel

Tacos de Carne - smoked beef brisket tacos served on fresh handmade corn tortillas with Pico de Gallo, lime and corn tortilla chips

"Doug had the tacos de carne. They were just okay. One thing that annoyed me was that this was our first time using the regular dining plan and a quick service credit since we ate all table service last time. So Doug comes back with no churros and as a good DISer I know those are part of the plan. He said the girl who rang him up didn't say anything about dessert and I didn't go back to argue for fear that the birds would take off with my son!"

Next we received this update from AlohaPolynesian.

She said, "First picture is of a yummy caramel apple from the..."

Main Street Confectionary

"Based on a suggestion from the DIS, I asked them to cut it up. Great idea! We shared it and it was delicious!"

1900 Park Fare

AlohaPolynesian said, "Dinner was at 1900 Park Fare. It was average. The Piña Colava cocktail I got helped, though."

Pina CoLAVA
Bacardi Black RAZZ rum with pina colada mix and raspberry puree

"I started with the vegan noodle salad and some roasted/marinated veggies. Noodle salad was okay but roasted veggies were gross."

"So I went back and got some veggie sushi and make your own pasta with marinara sauce and veggies. The veggie sushi was actually outstanding, and the pasta was just okay."

"Chef TJ wasn't there, so I did not bother requesting a separate vegan meal. Instead I just tried a few things and wasn't that strict about it this evening....OOPS!"

"1900 Park Fare food is not a good reason to eat here, but the character interaction is awesome!"

I'll post one more update tonight and will have to save the rest for tomorrow morning.

This is a dinner update from CaliBear.

MARA

1/3 pound Angus Bacon Cheeseburger & French fries

"CaliBear said, "You can sub couscous for fries if you wish. Not pictured: a fountain drink and some hummus and pita chips that we purchased to eat in the morning. When you order a cook to order item here they give you a pager that lights up when your food is ready. So we brought a cup, chips, hummus, and a slip of paper to the cashier and paid $17 and some change. A few minutes later, the pager lit up and he went to get the burger...and he paid for the burger a second time. Either he's extremely tired and forgot he'd already paid for it or he's so used to paying high prices for Disney food that he actually thinks chips, dip, and one soda cost $17. Anyway, he was reimbursed and he really enjoyed the fries: crisp outside, soft inside. And the burger was ok."
