Hi Barb! I hope you had an awesome family Christmas party. I love the food & wines around the world idea - sounds rather like hmmmm... Epcot F&W?? I'm sure you are not serving your food in paper boat though so perhaps not so much alike!!

Hello everyone!

Thanks so much for all the posts yesterday, keeping the thread active for me while I was busy getting ready for our 3rd Annual Christmas Around the World party. The party was a great success, if I do say so myself. We finally remembered to take lots of pics this year, so if anyone is interested I can post them here in lieu of Disney food updates. We currently have only one reporter at Disney World (Amy, AppleSister1) and I haven't heard from her since Friday.

But I do still owe you an update that I received on Friday from disneychristmasx3.
It was her final update and it is a grand finale!

Her update began with their lunch at...

Via Napoli

disneychristmasx3 said, "We were on the road home yesterday [Thursday] so my last update is late! For lunch Wednesday, we were at Via Napoli. We all enjoyed the individual pizzas. DS and I each had the Quattro Formaggi. It was delicious and surprisingly not at all oily."

Quattro Formaggi (4 Cheese) Pizza with mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, and provolone cheese

"DH had the prosciutto and melon pizza. He was very pleased with it and has been telling everyone about it."

Prosciutto e Melone Pizza with fontina, mozzarella, prosciutto, and cantaloupe

"Other DS had the sausage pizza. He ate every single bite, which is saying something by the point in the trip."

Sausage Pizza (I think this might be the Piccante with Italian spicy sausage??)

"DD had one with artichoke, mozzarella, and truffle oil. It had a wonderful garlic flavor."

Carciofi - white pizza with artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, and truffle oil

"For dessert DD and DH had lemon sorbet, which was light and refreshing."

Lemon Sorbet

"DS and I had the "Ugly but Good" sundae. It was not ugly and it was so much better than good. The cherries were delicious."

Coppa Di Brutti Ma Buoni (Ugly but Good Sundae)
Amarena cherry and vanilla gelato sundae with Ugly, but Good cookies

"I do not remember what this was called but it was like an ice cream float with Italian soda. DS loved it!"

Gelato Frizzante - Ice cream soda Italian style, made with San Pellegrino Aranciata and Vanilla Ice Cream

Then a holiday-themed pic...

Gingerbread House at Germany's Karamell Kuche

"At this point we still had 24 snack credits to use and just about 12 hours of vacation left including sleeping! We hit Karamell Kuche and we hit it hard. I believe we have a variety of salted caramels, cookies, Rice Krispie treats, bags and bags of Werthers treats and more. It all got packaged for travel but the above is the gingerbread house in their window."

1 Holiday Roulette Bonus Point Earned for the gingerbread house pic

2 Point Roulette Bet placed on Epcot Group 5 for Via Napoli at Italy

More of disneychristmasx3's final update coming soon!

Following some more after-party cleanup ...

here is the second installment of disneychristmasx3's final update.

Chefs de France

disneychristmasx3 said, "Our final dinner was at Les Chefs de France. This was one of only 2 ADR's on this trip that were repeats for us. The other was Le Cellier. Les Chefs was the only meal of the entire trip that was a disappointment."

Bisque de homard - Lobster bisque

"All 3 kids had the lobster bisque, which was just barely warm but very tasty. DH and I had the French onion soup.
It was the highlight of our meal but was scalding hot! Picture of that one has gone missing."

Filet de saumon, pommes de terre ecrasees au beurre et ciboulette, sur coulis de tomate et poivron rouge
Broiled Salmon, smashed potatoes with butter and chives. served with tomato and red pepper sauce

"DD had the salmon. She really enjoyed it."

Gratin de macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese

"DS had the macaroni and cheese with gruyere cheese. It had very little flavor and we had to add salt."

Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates
Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms

"DH, DS, and I each had the short ribs. They had absolutely no taste at all. We added salt and pepper and still absolutely flavorless. Didn't even bother to eat more than a couple of bites."

For dessert, DS and I each had the sorbet trio. They didn't tell you what the flavors were but we knew the orange one was mango. We are guessing the pale yellow one was pineapple, and we have no idea what the white one was. Consensus was the pineapple was amazing and other two got left behind."

Assiette de Sorbets du jour et son palmier
Daily assortment of fresh sorbets served with an elephant ear

Fraisier, sorbet et coulis aux fruits rouges
Strawberry cake with red berry sauce and sorbet

"DD had a strawberry shortcake type thing, which was very good."

Profiteroles au Chocolat
Puff choux with vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce.

"DS and DH got the profiteroles. They cleaned their plates. As a whole the appetizers and desserts were very, very good, but the entrees were bland and flavorless. I have taken some French cooking classes and nothing we ever made was ever bland. A disappointment on what was already a second chance so this was our last visit here. I will say our server was wonderful though. Which was a trend this trip. Great service at every single meal."

"At this point it was 10 p.m. and we were leaving after breakfast the next morning. We still had 16 CS credits, so 11 spare with 5 saved for breakfast!!! So we decided we should hit Port Orleans [Riverside Mill] sandwich counter to get sandwiches for the road. We arrived at 10:15 and it had closed at 10:00! So it was back to the "Make your own Pasta"! We got 5 fettuccine Alfredos with shrimp, packaged to go, and voila! No need to cook when we arrived home late last night!"

2 Point Roulette Bet placed on Epcot Group 3 for Chefs de France

And now for the last installment of disneychristmasx3's final update.

She said, "On the morning of checkout we stopped at Wolfgang Puck Express for breakfast before hitting the road."

Wolfgang Puck Express

Smoked Bacon Pizza with scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and ranch dressing

"Three of us chose the smoked bacon breakfast pizza. It was good but not quite as flavorful as we remembered it."

Belgian Waffle served with strawberries and bananas, maple syrup and whipped cream

"DD and DS chose the Belgian Waffle. It was good but by now I think we were all just done with all the eating.
Nobody was even hungry!"

"So we still had 6 unused CS credits. Even though it was only 8:30 in the morning, we were able to go to Earl of Sandwich and order from the full menu. We ordered an assortment of sandwiches and brownies packed to go so unfortunately no pictures. They were meant to be lunch during the 10 hour drive. But we never did eat them. It took the full 10 hours to get hungry. We ended up sharing sharing only 2 of the Make your own Pastas between the 5 of us before heading straight to bed!"

2 Point Roulette Bet placed on Downtown Disney Group 1 for Wolfgang Puck Express

Also possibly Mariep26??? emmebear will probably be returning to the World sometime in February and I'm hoping that we can count on her to do live updates if she does. I'm also looking forward to Linda67's live updates from Disneyland Paris during her February trip there.

So thank you to all of you who have volunteered so far. But we are definitely in need of more volunteers, so if you have a trip planned in February, please consider joining our Live Reporting Team.

I should be able to do it! I'll have to e-mail my updates to you, since my phone is getting old and has been very temperamental when I try to use the camera to take and upload pics, but there should be time each day to e-mail some pictures

So we have made the final decision to do the QSDP and forgo the DDp this trip since it's our 1st trip with our 6 month old and we are not sure how she will behave.

Is anyone looking for specific menus? Snacks?
