Akersush soups
According to the Akershus lunch menu I have seen, it states "choice of soup" with a few of the entrees. Do anyone know what soup(s) are offered?

The soup at lunch is a red (i think tomato based) soup. It sorta tastes like a borchst (sp?)....it's actually quite good. In fact, the hot entrees there are so poor that I usually just eat the soup and have the cold buffet.

Being married to a Norwegian woman for 25 years I have never wanted to eat at Akerhaus. Plus I can't eat fish so there goes most of the hot dishes.

Thank you both. However, I was able to snag a dinner spot so I guess I wont have to eat the tomato beet soup after all
I did have my eye on the beef tip, sounds like I should stay away from that though? |

LOL to the previous poster's remark about Norwegians not being able to cook. Never knew that.

I had a cream of cauliflower soup there a couple weeks ago and it was really good. The other soup was a vegetable soup, I think with a tomato base. I liked the soup better than the entree, and also enjoyed the salad bar.

I ate there this summer and the choice was a vegetable soup and a cauliflower soup. Believe it or not the Cauliflower soup was really good.

I had a really fantastic roasted vegetable ravioli the last time I went. It's no longer on the menu, but I'm really looking forward to trying the mushroom ravioli when I visit in January. The pasta dishes there are, in my opinion, generally very good.
