Looks like fun, we're following along. It is neat to see how Disney has something fun for everybody! Our prior trip was over five years ago, but we re hoping to not have to wait as long next time.

My mum who is a show person, my dad who doesnt like thrill rides, Amber who is 12 but middle of the road when it comes to rides and Jett (6) and I who are daredevils Think it will be a while until our next trip (wish we could go sooner though). I see you just got back from the World! Hope you had a wonderful trip!

Alright, so I am not sure if anyone out there in Cyber Space is still following me (or whether you have given up ) Life has just recently gotten in the way of spending too much time in the world of DIS but I am here and posting today about the Disney Studios (aka Hollywood Studios, MGM, the place with the Giant Sorcerer Hat).

Now lets start by saying that our family is full of drama geeks. We love participating and watching plays so Disney Studios is definately our cup of tea. It is #1 on my parks list and #2 only to MK for the rest of the fam!

When we arrived @ the park the first thing we did was check out the schedule. The goals of the day were Star Tours and Toy Story Mania so even if we just hit up those it would have made the day

First things first we headed over to Star Tours. My mum is not a big ride or enclosed spaces so this was out for us, she said she was happy to enjoy the gift shop while we rode since it had started pouring. We have not been to the World since 2006 so this was an all new Star Tours and I must say I loved this one!

We knew we still had quite a while until American Idols first show of the day so we decided to check out The Great Movie Ride, this was a favourite on our last trip.

Unfortunately we didnt have the greatest Tour Guide which really makes it or breaks it. I still love the animatronics in it

On our way out (before we headed over to AI Experience) we saw Piglet and Jett insisted he join the line. Unfortunately he tripped and fell hence why he doesnt look to impressed. By the looks of it I think my dad was more excited

We also saw Minnie and thankfully Jett had quickly recovered.

Finally it was time for American Idol! We were toward the front so were able to snag second row seats! I would HIGHLY recommend this part of Disney Studios - the performers are actually very talented and it is such a fun and interactive experience We even got to see ourselves on the giant screen. We were also glad to be indoors since it was raining.

My sister was unfortunately just a bit too young to audition... she was pretty disappointed but as you can see, got over it pretty fast.

No one was really too hungry, we had eaten some cereal from home for breakfast so decided to skip lunch (we also had an early dinner reservation for Sci Fi).

Up next we headed to Light, Motor, Actions Extreme Stunt Show and it was awesome! Now my mum and I are not a big action fan but we both loved seeing how all the stunts were created. Amber liked it but found it really loud (she has issues with her ears so loud noises tend to bother her). Jett and my dad were in their element and the younger of the two was beyond thrilled when a certain red racecar appeared. Can you guess who.... thats right.

Lightning McQueen

I wont post the err, 65 pictures I took of the show. Here is just one!

Following the show we tried to ride the Studio Backlot Tour but it was an estimated hour wait and they dont have any options for guests with the GAC. Instead we headed over to Toy Story Midway Ride (not until we got another one of Amber and Jett's favourite souveniers).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Toy Story Mania, I think this was one of my favourites from the whole trip. I love how interactive the ride is and the fact that you get to actually play the games, not just shoot - which I am really bad at). Jett and I rode together so I had to help him (if I wasnt for that I would have for sure had the high score of the day, thats my story and I'm sticking to it).

We were getting close to our reservations but still had about 45 minutes until our time. Jett then saw this in the distance

Jett and I were the only ones who wanted to ride, we hadnt convinced Amber... yet. We had to run to the Hollywood Tower since it had yet again started to rain.

Our bellhop was awesome (and hillarious) and kept asking Jett, in a creepy way, are you suuurrree you are brave enough to experience the Hollywood Tower lol. Well we hopped aboard our lift and off we went.
OMG Tower of Terror is so much fun and the random drops make it so much better! I thought the whole ride was great from start to finish. After the ride Jett wanted to see our picture and although I tried to use my camera to grab a snapshot it did not turn out but basically this is what it looked like.

Me and Jett He wasnt the least bit afraid.

Finally it was time for supper (we were all getting pretty hungry at this point) so off to Sci Fi we went. Overall, it was a fantastic dinner (I dont know why this place gets so much negativity, it was really good and really filling) and those milkshakes are to die for. The movies are so much fun and our waiter was great as well (and really accomodating to my picky sister).

Again, I wont go into detail but our orders were the following.

Me - Shrimp Pasta, Oreo Milkshake and Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake (to go)
Amber - Kids Chicken Nuggets and Fries, Vanilla Milkshake x2
Mum - Rib-Eye Steak and Potatoes/Veggies, Flavoured Sodas (Vanilla and Cherry), Milkshake
Dad - Angus Chuck Burger, Milkshakes x2
Jett - Hot Dog and Fries, half of my milkshake and Ice Cream Sundae

Yummy!
A couple of pictures of the hams!

In the next post since I apparently posted too many

We then headed back to our hotel for a quick rest and then spent the rest of the night at the Volcano and Quiet and back to the Volcano pools!

Rain, Rain and a lot more rain - Epcot AM

So prior to our trip I was paranoid about the weather... Hurricane Isaac was predicted to hit Florida and I had the worst case senario planted in my head. We are lucky here in Ontario, Canada that we really dont see a lot of natural disasters so I didnt know what to expect. Thankfully some people on the Disboards calmed my nerves and I knew that in case of emergency Disney would know what to do

So the big day arrived and thankfully Disney just got the tailend of the storm but boy oh boy I have NEVER in my life seen rain like that. The plan for the day had been Animal Kingdom but the backup plan was Epcot (apparently that was EVERYONES plan, as we would see when arriving @ the park). We would not let rain get in our way of having fun though so off we went!

Praise Ponchos! Amber, despite it pouring did not remove those sunglasses all day? Apparently it prevented water from going in her eyes?

Initially my too cool dad did not want to wear his poncho... the second we stepped into Epcot his mind changed!

Since it was raining SO much we decided to start with Spaceship Earth. I had never been on this before, astonishing I know, so I didnt know what to expect. Everyone really liked it and had fun with the hands on activities afterwards.

Going for a race!

Afterwards we decided to head over to The Land to ride... you guessed it! Oh look, we found more pressed pennies!

"ARIN" aka Soarin' - it was so busy in there. Crowds that we thankfully will not encounter again on our trip (we are not fans and dont handle big crowds well so no Christmas week Disney vacation for us).

Again my mum decided to sit out this one. She doesnt like heights either Good thing she chose this since we ended up row 1. I really liked Soarin' - the images were gorgeous, Jett thought it was fun but my dad and Amber did not enjoy. They were both really nervous about the height

After the ride we decided to grab an early lunch. My mum and I had been looking forward to Sunshine Seasons so clearly that was our choice. Amber and my dad decided to brave the elements and head over to Electric Umbrella for... surprise surprise chicken nuggets!

I adored Sunshine Seasons. Jett ordered the Kids Macaroni and Cheese (he said it was "awesome, way better than the stuff out of the box"), my mum ordered the Turkey and Monteray Jack with chips and Tiramisu, I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Sandwich with a Potato Salad (AMAZING) and Strawberry Shortcake.

While we were eating we swore we heard someone calling "Hey... Jett" but looking around we didnt see anything at first. Then "Hey... Jett" got closer - we looked and there was Jett's friend from dance and her family. They were running to Soarin but we would run into them later on in Epcot (and get a picture)! We knew that they were going to be in Disney but hadnt made plans to meet up. They would be just one of 5 sets of people we knew that we just happened to run into.

All together.... Its a Small World AfterAll....

Epcot Day 3 Part 2

So I have returned and hoping to garner up some more followers! I already know what happened on our trip lol. Although this seems a good way to remember everything

The afternoon of Day 3 seemed to bring a little reprive from the rain but man oh man did it get humid! Whew!

The afternoon brought us to the seas to visit with my favourite little fish and all his friends! The Seas.

First things first we headed to the Seas with Nemo and Friends... on our last trip this ride was not yet there so this was a must! The queue seemed never ending, thankfully there was not many people so we went staight though - when we went past later on the lineup was out the door.

Unfortunately not a single picture I took during the ride turned out. My family seemed to really enjoy the ride, I didnt so much but I think that was due to my frustration trying to get a decent picture.

After visiting Nemo we went to the main area to see Turtle Talk with Crush. There was a little bit of a wait so Amber and Jett went to get their photo taken with Bruce! We love Bruce!

Finally we were let into a holding area where we snagged a spot near the fish tank. Got some great shots (that is when I was not being bodychecked by a group of women trying to push their way past to get a picture).

Then we were let in to see Crush, again being bodychecked by the same group of women. Jett was actually pushed by said women's daughter - my mum then turned to mama bear and made the little girl appologize
Everyone loved this show; these types of shows - interactive are my favourite in Disney, as you become right there in the action!

Look out Crush!

After Turtle Talk we headed over to see Figment! I personally hadnt a clue who the little "dragon" was? But this began Amber's obsession... she loved him! We ended up spending a good 1/2 hour in the interactive room after the ride and then of course, after ending up in a gift shop, had to buy a figment stuffy. She was so happy to have him lol.

I made my own Figment...

We had a little bit of time until our reservation at Akershus so headed over to Ellen's Universe of Energy/Energy Adventure. This ride gets such negativity but we all enjoyed it. Jett is a big dinosaur fanatic... it was also a nice opportunity to take a seat and get out of the humidity. Amber (and my dad) started complaining that their feet were hurting so I think they needed this break!

When we finished we decided to ride Mission Space. None of us (other than fearless Jett) were sure about riding the intense version so Green we went. You can probably guess who sat this one out I was surprised my dad wanted to ride it but on we went. After getting our jobs we headed into the capsule. It was fun but immediately after the ride Jett said that he really wanted to ride Orange. Of course my dad and Amber were against it (Green was intense enough for them) but I was iffy. I wanted to but that being said I dont do spinning well - the teacups make me nausious. There are also some really bad stories associated with Mission Space: Orange. Well... eventually he convinced me so onto the capsule we went. Jett was by far the smallest in line - mostly older kids and adults... a CM even asked if he was sure he wanted to ride. He was, his sister not so much Well, I must say it wasnt too bad, I felt a little woozy but was fine after a couple of minutes.

On our way to our reservations we saw a little hidden Mickey and had to snap a picture.

Akershus:

Continued in next post! Had too many pictures!

Day 3 Continued

Now Akershus is not a meal we would typically eat but everyone had their choice of a restaurant and this was mine. We all started at the cold buffet, which I thought was really neat. We got our couple of pictures with Belle and then ordered.

Mum - Grilled Pork Tenderloin
Jett - Pizza
Me - Catch of the Day - I believe it was cod (was very good)
Dad - Seared Herb Dusted Beef Tips (was okay but not great)
Amber - Grilled Chicken from the Children's Menu... as you have learned Amber is a very selective eater and although she ordered it she wasnt going to eat it; my mum tried it and said it was really rubbery

This is how she felt about her chicken

The waitress, lovely girl, kept trying to help; asking why Amber wasnt eating and if she could do something (she must have come over 3 times) and then each princess asked the same thing. I think Amber was overwhelmed and started to cry Then Amber's favourite princess, Snow White, took her hand and left with her lol. She gave her a hug and brought her to the cold buffet and they picked out some food from there.

This is not the greatest picture but...

She told Amber she was picky (thats why she always cooked for the 7 Dwarfs - she didnt like the food that they made). She also came back later and told Amber to make sure she enjoyed dessert.

We then headed back to the Polynesian for a swim to end our day but snagged a couple of pictures before we left!

Loved this!

Hey thanks for checking in.... maybe it will be the kick in the butt I need to get to finishing this trip report. I seriously have just not had the time. But if I know I have at least one person following

We didnt really either only at night when we were all settling. I thought it was really cute the storytime. During the day though I dont recall it going on once, even when we were all in the hotel room. It was actually great because everyone was talking about what they liked best, what to do next.

Snow White was incredibly, stayed in character but also talked to Amber realizing she was 12. My mum of course was tearing up

Amber loved BBB but I heard some littler ones on the trip (passing by) that werent fans... too hot and itchy. Amber has always been a princess gal (from being a toddler; on her first trip she did BBB as Snow White and literally wore it most of our trip). This time she went for the more grown up look but kept her hair for a couple of days and still wears the skirt.

Ya the weird thing with v is she loved BBB! She didnt complain about the costume last year or this year she loved it all. She did ave a minor incident in July which is probably why but not enough to keep her away I wouldn't have thought. If we go again I'll let her do whatever hair style she wants. She may want the courtyard package. Of course I was hoping to do matching dresses and air styles with her American girl doll. Oh well we shall see.

So far no mention of another trip this summer despite some talk of it immediately following our trip last summer ( like the day we were picked up!)
My boss said well next summer I think we should fly right into Orlando and do Disney first and then you might like to fly home for some vacation time of your own....

I wish I'd gotten that on camera.

I wanna go back to disney
