I think is is real. One time I was riding in a car and closed my eyes. The next thing I knew I was 200 miles further down the road. Crazy!

You don't have to go faster than the speed of light to time travel. For example, if you had a monorail wrap around the world and boarded the monorail for a year traveling at .75% the speed of light, you would get off the monorail and only a year would have past for you, but several years would have past for those living on earth. Thats one way to time travel.

Again, the reason that time travel into the pat is impossible is the grandfather paradox. Meaning, to be able to travel back in time means being able to travel back and kill your grandfather. Not possible, paradox there. Unless, traveling back in time is inconjunction with traveling to another universe. In that case you side step the grandfather paradox.

Time travel and ghosts have nothing to do with each other. One is science, the other is imaginary.

Every time you look up at the night sky and gaze at the stars you are looking back at time.

If you were able to focus and expand that light, you may be able to see events on distance worlds ten of thousands of years ago.

Wouldn't that be something!

If you haven't watched, "Somewhere in Time," you should go watch this love story. It's a good movie. I watched it many times. In that movie, time did travel. It was very interesting. Starring Christopher Reeves, Jane Seymour and Christopher Plummer. Just to add... the movie was shot in Mackinac Island, Michigan. I love this place!

I would like to think that time travels.. I would love to go back in time and change a few things.

I believe in ghosts because I have seen evidence that satisfies me. I'm not so sure about some of the other things mentioned but I always try to keep an open mind when it comes to just about anything. You never know what could be created someday.

This seems to explain my mom's theory:

http://spaceplace.nasa.gov/review/dr...me-travel.html

As I said, neither one of my parents is/was an expert. My mother may have taken college-level physics, but I don't think my father did.

But it's fun to dream "What if?"

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff.

My mind is open to all KINDS of things, but time travel isn't one of them.

But I do believe in possible multiple dimensions, but that wouldn't be time travel (technically)...

ETA... I loved that book! Best King novel in many years. And the best ending he's EVER written (and he credits his son for it... not surprised!).
How would we know? We'd be in the reality that we're in and whatever happened in the past would be the past as we know it.

Also, why presume that if time travel to the past was possible, people would have run around trying to change things?

The Prime Directive, people! The Prime Directive. Captain Kirk let Joan Collins get squished, did he not?

What do we want? Time travel. When do we want it? That's irrelevant.

Also, I can't believe no one brought up the Chaplin movie woman.

Because really, explain that.

They explained this as some sort of hearing aid or something.

No because the car would have burst into flames from the friction long before it got to the speed of light.
