Eating at the bars at GF

Citrico's is my favorite restaurant on property, but I'm blanking if you can sit at the little bar area and eat without a reservation there? Also, can you do the same at Narcoossees? My sister and I don't have set dinner plans for a night since we're not sure what they day will consist of so I'm wondering if we can stop in and have a little something at each. Thanks!

1) Citricos is very seldom sold out.
2) Sitting at the bar for eats is possible, but not necessary.
3) Besides, the bar is actually in the restaurant, just facing away.
4) As far as I am considered,
. . . a VERY BAD BAR LAYOUT
. . . no privacy
. . . no sense of exclusivity
. . . diners right behind you - within 15-feet
. . . uncomfortable wrought-iron-style chairs
5) I would either eat at a table or go elsewhere.
6) And, Citricos is one of our five TS eateries we patronize at WDW.

7) Narcoossee's bar is away from the eatery.
8) But, the eatery is terribly noisy and it does reach the bar.
9) Not conducive to talking or eating.

Thanks!

I can't imagine not going to Citricos, but I also want to try the sushi over at Poly so maybe a nice drink and an app at Citrico's if the bar isn't crowded. Although having our backs to the restaurant, and I believe the window, doesn't sound all too lovely....I guess we'll see when we get there!

Many bar seats at restaurants don't face the restaurant. Such as California Grill, Flying Fish, Blue Zoo.

For us that's a PLUS.

We eat at the bar at Citricos all the time. You can certainly order a full meal there. As has been noted it isn't very large and it is almost never crowded.
And it isn't as noisy as either California Grill or Flying Fish.

We've been known to get samples from the chef for sitting at the Citricos bar.

Fact is, Citricos has something pretty close to an open kitchen..

This is true - and last time I ate at the bar at CG and I was fine. Sure a bar with a view would be ideal, but we still looked around alot

Come to think of it, I can think of few restaurants outside the World whose bar stools face the restaurant (bar tables are another matter). Usually it's in the interest of the bartender to face the traffic, so to speak.
