![]() I don't have caller ID on the home phone, so I'll answer the phone when it rings. I have no problem hanging up on robo calls, I have no problem telling sales people "I'm not interested" and hanging up once they start their pitch.

Unknowns I don't answer but for private I usually do. I very rarely get private and my mil comes up that way as she has an unlisted number. Other than that I usually only answer if i recognize the number - we get way too many telemarketers (even though we are on do not call).

I never answer those types of calls. If they block their name they are not worth my time. No telemarketer call is worth my time and I wish we could get them ALL to stop. We're on the "do not call" list for both home phone and our cell phones but we still receive a lot of unwanted calls like that and it's irritating. I wish they would make the "do not call" list so that we could check off the types of calls we don't wish to receive and be able to include charities (we never give over the phone, we either give in person or mail a check directly to organization), political, etc.

Yes. I can only think of one time ever that it was a telemarketer.
Generally it is either my son's friend whose number is blocked because his mom's ex gave them a lot of issues, or my sister in law, whose house number is blocked because she is an attorney and while she might need to make a call from home once in a while she does not want clients to be able to reach her there.

I answer the phone every time it rings. As a business owner I can't afford to miss out on a potential new customer. Customers typically move on to another company if they don't get an answer.
If it's a telemarketer I just hang up on them after a firm "put our number on the DNC list".

I do, one because I am just so curious as to who is on the other end, but I also have a couple of friends that have blocked numbers when they call me from work so I do answer them.

I never answer them. There is someone who lives in an adjoining suburb who has the same unusual name -- first and last. She evidently owes a lot of bills and I get collection calls for her all the time. It doesn't matter that she is 30 odd years younger than me -- the people either seem to think I either know her or am her!!! Never met the lady and certainly don't want to knowing what I know about her "business."

Never. Even if I can see the number, I don't answer. If it's important enough, leave me a message and I will call you back.

I have only once. My sons were in Nebraska visiting their Grandparents and DS15 wallet got stolen. I was at home in Oklahoma, but called the police in Nebraska. Officer Wes told me he'd call me back. 15 minutes later I got a call from "unknown" and I answered it. It was Officer Wes.
So typically, I don't answer them...but I was glad I did this once!
