How bad is category 3 seating at Luau???
We would like to do the Luau with our kids but the only thing left is category 3 seating and we are wondering how bad is it??? Don't really want to do it if the seats are horrible, maybe we will just try to book earlier next trip. But if someone has done category 3 and can tell us its not that bad then we would LOVE to book it !!! Thanks for your help!!!!

1) Bad is a tough term to define.
2) Cat-3 are in the wings. 3) You do have a view, but it is mainly from the sides. |

Category 3 seating is near the kitchen and the sides, as Rusty indicated. Without a doubt, you are involved in the show and performance but you could have an obstructed and/or limited view depending on where you are in the theatre. I would not consider Category 3 "bad" but it is not front and center. The Luau is a fun experience and (if the weather cooperates) can be an absolutely lovely evening.
Hope this helps.

I booked Category 3 for October 6th. It's just me and my 4 year old daughter... I contemplating cancelling but it's our first time seeing the show and I really wanted to experience it. There's no other night available that would work for us so I'm going to go. If you don't mind waiting, I could report back here or let you know via PM on how it is.

As far as I'm concerned, there isn't a bad seat in the place. cat 3 is in the back and sides, but the seating area isn't really that big.

Just went last Saturday night
First cat 3 is really not that far, BUT I would not waste your credit or money on doing this. We had cat 1, my kids are 5 & 8 I thought the food was not worth the cost. I had to ask for mac and cheese and grapes for my kids. The service was bad, they know tip is already pre paid so why should the care. The salad was good, I did not care for the bread. Then you get chicken, that was ok, flavorless rice and veggies, and then ribs. THe ribs are good. For dessert it is whipped chocolate pudding in a shape of a vulcano. My kids would not even eat it. Thats it. The kids did like the show, but any other dinner show is better than this. |

Cat 3 at hdr is fine...I know its a different venue. I have not been to soa since I was a kid in the late 70's or early 80's
![]() I am thinking of booking this on our next trip because DD loved the other dinner shows and would like the hula's. I was considering doing cat 3... Mainly to save a few bucks and also to teach DD NOT everything is perfect or the best. She is 5 and this will be her 8th trip. I don't buy souvenirs and a bunch of junk.. She knows she can pick ONE thing. Did I get off topic ?? Sorry, I think considering that you can save some dollars and still enjoy the atmosphere I say go with it !!

I did not like the lines to meet the charaters before hand. We got there about 30 minutes early and the lines were so long we did not meet anyone. |

I have been to the Luau many times, and sat in Catergory 3. Our view was unobstructed and we had an equally good time as we have had in Category 1. The only snag is there is a part of the show where kids can participate and if your kids choose to it can be a little tedious getting to the stage. Other than that, we didn't mind Catergory 3 at all.
