Feb. 2013
We're going to wdw for the first time with my 2 boys 7 and almost 4. We will be there feb. 9-15. Will this be a good week? Looks like 5-6 on the crowd calendar most of the week, but since we've never been its hard for me to gauge that. It will be a Christmas surprise and I can't wait! Thanks!

We are going this week as well-the 7th -15th. We live in the New Orleans area, and it is Mardi Gras week. We try to go this week whenever it doesn't fall on Presidents week. The crowds for Presidents week start that Friday which is why we are leaving that day. I love to go for Mardi Gras, the crowds are never bad and the weather is usually nice. Shorts during the day and sweatshirts for when the sun goes down. The majority of the crowd there is usually from Louisiana. Those of us with kids like to get out of dodge for Mardi Gras-I can get my fill of family friendly parades in the weeks leading up to the big day. just be prepared for a lot of Saints and LSU shirts

We were there this year Feb 4-11 and it was perfect! Attendance was less than half capacity so lines weren't bad at all. And the weather is still very pleasant (cold if you're Floridian, gorgeous when you come from Chicago and there is snow on the ground when you get back).

Yes, too many beads! We usually ship them to our niece in NJ who brings them to school with a king cake :-)
Thanks for the hoodie compliment! I'm working on our outfits for this year now. The 13th will be my birthday, my two daughters' birthday, AND my dad's birthday. We'll all be there together for our birthday gras celebration--can't wait! |

I was there this year from Feb 11-16 (Sat-Thurs before Presidents Day) and thought it was great, crowds not bad at all. There were a couple of REALLY cold mornings (like starting out in the 30s), but nothing a hoodie and gloves couldn't handle. No precipitation of any kind, and the warmer/average temp days were beautiful!
One tip - don't go to AK on a really cold day, because some animals won't be out on the safari and walking trails until it warms up some. Kali River Rapids was also closed, at least in the morning.

Crowds are great in Feb. before President's week. In the past we have gone from Feb1-11. It is cooler in the evening and nice during the dat. Love how the steam comes off the pool in the morning. Lines aren't bad at all, very managable. I would say nothin over 30 minutes but most quite less, of course that's luck of the draw. Buses are buses and will be full. Overall a great time.

We'll also be there from Feb 8-17 and are from Louisiana. We thought we would try going at a cooler time than our usual June trip.
Hopefully it won't be to cold.

We usually go every year in Feb. Word of advise pack warm clothes it does get cold in Florida! I usually take a turtle neck to wear under my sweatshirt because the breeze can be very very chilly especially if you are out after sundown or riding the boats to and from MK. I also take a pair of strechy gloves.
President's day week is very busy. Its winter break for most schools, Daytona 500 takes place around this time- and you will see a lot of race fans at Disney. Twirl mania competion is held every year during this week so expect A LOT of girls at the value resorts. And there have been times when Disney has forgotten so shut off their sprinklers and the plants have ice on them in the morning!

I'm going from feb. 3rd to 9th. I have been in may in the past, and had realy low crowds (well, my own vision of low, I am used to six flags horrendous crowds), so I wonder how it will be.
We don't mind the weather, as I am from Montréal, and it's blizzards month here. Anything else will be warm for us. ![]() I actualy love doing parks when it's a bit cold, because you do sweat all day long.
