If the park closes at 8 why can I book and 805 dinner??

HS closes at 8 pm on 1/6 however there is an open reservation for 8:05 at Sci Fi. Why is that? I mean if the park is closed? And won't busses stop running before we would be done eating? I am just curious! We will probably get an earlier one to be on the safe side but I do like the 8 oclock dining time!

Thanks!

If it's available, take it! They will not leave you stranded in a park. While we haven't had an ADR after the park closes at DHS, we have taken the last ADR at other parks. The walk after your meal, when the park is just about all empty, is quite the experience. We have done this a few times in EPCOT. From the WS the walk is a great, relaxing, beautiful and yet a tad bit creepy way to end your day.

I agree! If you can get it, grab it. And it really doesn't take all that long to eat there anyway. We love walking out of the parks after the huge mass exit when the park first closes. It's wonderful.

I was wondering this as well. We have been to disney numerous times, but have never had a dining reservation after the park closed. We decided to do one this year at AK.

I've had several winters when I have worked at DHS Gate while a water park was closed. Those of us working the gate, including the managers, have complained about the after-hours reservations to no avail.

The staff in the restaurant will not rush you, they will stay as long as you wish. When you get out of the restaurant you will be kind of escorted to the Gate. The people escorting will not rush you, but they will not allow you to get any deeper into the Park.

And when you get out you will find that you will have your own private transportation to your car or your own private bus to your Resort.

Great information! Thanks for sharing! I am not sure how to respond since while this is great news for me it is not such a great scenario for someone looking to end their very long day of work! So again thanks so much!

Being in the park after it closes is awesome. We have come from dinner after closing and strolled towards the exit. Noone rushed us out. We have even ordered cs and a beer from the studios at closing and ate w/o anyone rushing us. It is nice to see the parks like this. I read someplace that shops are open up to an hour after closing too. But I don't know from experiance.

My husband was literally the last guest to walk out of AK one night after a late TH reservation - he stopped to take pictures and was kindly 'herded' out by two very nice CM's - not rushy or pushy at all but they stayed close and when he realized that we were already outside waiting by the only bus left, he finished taking pictures and joined us. He got some amazing shots though.
