First, I would like to say, "Stairs" was great!!!

Second, narrowed Bridges down to 8, then to 2, and I can go no further, so here are two!

I really DO want to live there!
I circulate my paper clips at work so they all get used or I feel like they'd be sad if they didn't get a "turn".

I really like it too and I would prefer if you don't PM her, but post it on the thread - because the DIS wants to know

It's quite surreal!

Thanks both. I shot this with a Nikon D7000 and a 28-300 zoom at 28mm.
I was on aperture priority at f/6.3 at ISO 200 and 1/320 sec. It was one of those "shoot from the hip" moments.

For post-processing I follow a "basic recipe" but each shot requires a different mix of "ingredients." I just do what looks good to me on the screen.

I opened the RAW file in Adobe Camera RAW and made adjustments to Exposure, Highlights and Shadows to tame the bright spots and to bring out more detail from the shadows. I also made some adjustments to Contrast, Clarity and Vibrance. I then applied the Lens Profile Corrections and saved the file in TIF format.

I opened the TIF file in Photoshop CS 6 so I could apply some digital filters from NIK Color Efex Pro. I usually try different ones to see which works for a particular shot. I find myself using Tonal Contrast a lot but for this shot I found the Glamour Glow filter worked really well to add soft focus and diffusion especially for the foliage.

I sometimes apply Noise Reduction and Sharpening as last steps but I think I just skipped these for this image.

I then saved to JPG for uploading to SmugMug. Post-processing took me about 10 minutes.

Thanks so much for the info. I shoot in RAW also and use Lightroom. Do you think I can find similar filters there to achieve the effect you did? It reminds me of the Orton effect but much more defined.

Your work always inspires me so thank you again!

I may ask more questions later!
