restaurant suggestions
i'll be in orlando with my family for 2 weeks and they're not very into disney dining. we have some favorites out in orlando, like bahama breeze, texas de brazil, and kobe, but we could do with some new suggestions. anything that has a different or fun or themed atmosphere would make us happy, but we also love good food. what are your favorites out in orlando?

We love Giordano's pizza and you can usually get a great gift cert from restaurant.com when they have their special. I just got a $25 for I think $4. I have gotten one for as little as $2 before

Celebration Town Tavern and Columbia House, both in Celebration are two of our favorites. O'Charley's on Sand Lake Road is also very good.

We have several Orlando favourites, but admittedly, most of them are American chains. Novel for us Canadians as we don't have them at home, but maybe not as much so for you lucky ducks that can enjoy them any day you like.
However, that said, here's our faves: Olive Garden TGI Fridays Chili's Friendly's Steak & Shake Cici's Pizza Golden Corral I would also highly recommend the Outta Control Dinner Show. Regular priced admission is just $22.99, and you can easily find discount coupons online and in Orlando to knock the price down a little bit more. All you can eat pizza, salad, popcorn, and white cake for dessert, plus unlimited soft drinks, beer and wine. Food is good (not outstanding, but perfectly "good") and the show is fantastic. We were there on August 31st and had an awesome evening.....its well worth the price of admission. A little magic, a little comedy, lots of audience participation, and totally family friendly. Check out my January trip report link in my signature for photos and a write up.

thanks for all the suggestions -- i'll look into them! |

. And the same price ($2.00 discount) is available by purchasing here as well:http://www.reserveorlando.com/shows/...magic_show.asp That's where we bought our tickets, and had no problem whatsoever when redeeming the purchase confirmation at the box office. Oh, and I should mention....I said the info and pics were in my January link below, and I'm an idiot ... should have said they are in the AUGUST link (d'oh!). Sorry 'bout that!

Orlando thoughts on eating
We like Don Pablos for mexican food. (moes, chipoltle, etc..is the new thing now but we still like to sit down for a change) They have closed most of the Don Pablos in the rest of Florida. We also like O'Charleys on sand lake road because they don't have this franchise in Florida. Lots of food, good prices. For disney, BOMA buffett at Animal Kingdom resort is neat because you can enjoy the resort animals, they also have a fire pit that is fun to sit by. We like the Outback at Buena Vista hotel (not the franchise) they are an old fashioned place but good steaks cooked to order and they are on restaurant.com. so you can save 25 bucks. The restaurant is a little old but we like it because it feels nostaglic to us, the way resturants used to be.

We always stop at TuTu Tango.
We were also pleasantly surprised by our meal at BB Kings. We bought a restaurant.com for it, so we were expecting much. It was great! |
