Question Kids activities/toys on Magic?

We are first time Disney cruisers and will be going with our 3 year old girls. Already thinking of ways to keep them occupied...
If the girls would not go to the clubs, would there be other playgrounds for them to play in, except the pools? I 've understood that we can't go with them to the clubs except when they have the 'open house', so what toys/entertainment would they have on the ship (Magic) if not participating in the clubs? Or do we really need to drag stuff from home with us?

There really aren't any toys just laying around for kids to play with, except in the club. You would need to bring along any toys you think you would need outside of the club.

Read this persons post from the Fantasy.

There is lots to do. I would not bring extra toys to play with. If they need a stuffed animal or favorite "lovey" bring that.

You will receive a Personal Navigator everyday that list all the activities on the ship. They will have Family Activities listed. Here is a link so you can get idea of what to expect

On one of the sea days they will have a Tea with Alice (or Wendy) You will need a special ticket (no charge). Go to Guest Services when you board and you can get a ticket.

I know some people are not comfortable with leaving their kids in the clubs but Disney does a great job and kids really have a great time.

Have a great cruise

On our first cruise with DS (then 4) we took a couple of sticker books and he chose a few of his favourite characters to take (just small ones). This was also to help occupy him on the 10 hour flight first. He played with these during a quiet half hour or so each afternoon and during dinner which kept him happy for as long as we wanted to sit. Otherwise there was plenty on board to keep us all occupied - he only spent a couple of hours in the club the whole week. At the end of the cruise we let him chose something from the gift shop, but afterwards realised we should have done this at the start as they have great Disney characters and we wouldn't have needed to bring them. So this is what we did for the second cruise and just bought books for the flight. There is plenty to do for kids even if they don't spend much time in the clubs.
