Autograph pillowcases

The kids are doing an autograph personalized pillowcase this trip (instead of the the same old autograph book, lol- how many can one kid have anway???). Pillow cases are made, going to buy an embroidery hoop for ease of signing.

Question is, Sharpie vs Fabric Markers. Thoughts???

I've done both with good results on pillowcases and canvas bags. This time I purchased Sharpie Fabric Markers from Michaels and regular fabric markers to get the selection of colors I wanted for the pillowcases.

Go with whatever has the best colors. Afterwards, spray the entire pillowcase with scotchguard before laundering to give the autographs a protective coating.

I've been planning this too. I think I'll do it for our Dec trip rather than our Oct weekend. Do I buy the markers at Michaels? Do you use cotton pillowcases? What colours do you recommend? I'm not very crafty and would love some input.

You can buy the markers at any craft store or on-line -- I think I even saw them at Wal-Mart recently. I used colors for the pillowcases to match my daughter's bedroom. We have 1 in pastel and then most recently we did the brighter colors - pink, green, yellow, turquoise (girly colors)

On the canvas bags, I did one with pinks, turquoise, etc. on one trip and on a different trip we did more primary colors.

I tried to match the color to the character if possible, i.e. Cinderella in light blue, Mickey and Minnie in Red, Pooh in golden yellow, Aurora in pink, Rapunzel in lavender.
