HDDR or Trails End???
In anyones opinion, if you had to choose between HDDR or Trails End for dinner, what would you do? It will be my DS (5), my husband and myself. We have rented a golf cart for the night to tour around FW (never been there) and we are trying to decide which to do for dinner. It is the 1st week of December that we will be there also....
If you think HDDR, please let me know what is the better seating/time. Thanks for your help!

HDDR is fantastic and one of our favourite meals of the trip. It is such good fun and the cornbread is delicious!
A fun thing would be to go to the Campfire sing a long with chip and Dale and then see the HDDR at 9pm (is it? The later showing- you tend to get a seat closer to the stage). If you are booking on the DDP then the later showing gets you category 1 seating which is amazing! We were right up at the front and all the actors came and spoke to us!

The difference basically boils down to whether you want a meal or a dining experience involving a show. Only you can decide what you want for the evening.
I'd try to book as close to your normal dining time as possible regardless of which you choose. That's a rule of thumb we've followed for a long time when we vacation and it's served us well. Whenever we book at different times, we end up having problems with kids not coping well.

clanmcculloch nailed it... "It boils down to whether you want a meal or a dining experience involving a show"
The meals are both fabulous (actually I believe some of the same foods are at Trail's End) but the HDR is a show... It may cut into your golf cart time too??? The show is corny and fun and a lot of laughs!!! It's gonna be your choice in the end... Either way you'll be happy!

HDDR is loads of fun.
We have done it 5 times over the past 30 some odd years with family, friends of all different age groups. My stomach hurt so much from laughing the first time we went, which was also on our first WDW trip. It is corny fun and enjoyable for all groups. It is pricey (I think it cost like $25.00 or so back in 1981! ), but definitely a fun evening for the family. Trail's End is very good and we never miss it. Comfort food, great service, low key ambience. The price is right too. It is fun to spend some time on the rocking chairs on the front porch and just watch the folks go by. Both are great and enjoyable. You really can't miss with either.
