They are completely infested with gall wasp; so I need to take a good look at them and see what we can salvage.
Interesting! Our planting should start soon. Sometime in April is general rule of thumb, but trying to make sure that we do not have another frost is key.

We've got a few peach trees going that were cuttings from my FIL's, and my MIL purchased fig trees for us last year. We'll get those in the ground soon and then figure out how we want to handle them for the winter. Not sure if you know, but fig trees are a real pain where I live. You either have to cover them unbelievably well for winter, or cut a notch in the base of the trunk and bury them. That's how sensitive they are. Crazy. But we love figs, so we must have fig trees. Thank goodness my husband takes care of that stuff.

I'm just looking to plant a basic garden this year. Start with some zucchini, snap peas, easy things. My harder goal is to have a small pumpkin patch. I LOVE Halloween, October, fall, pumpkins, etc.

Funny how close you are but still so different in climate!....we can't safely plant outdoors here until about mid-May. Risk of frost up to that point!! (well, I guess you can plant late April, but you have to be prepared to cover everything at night).

I got behind! I apologize! I'll hold up my end of the bargain I swear!

Kimmar's in the World, right? So exciting! One of my other DIS friends is posting some pics on FB and they're in tanks and shorts. SO jealous! Although I checked the weather and we've got a couple 70+ degree days coming up here.

Could I BE more excited?

I don't know, could you be? It is beautiful down here. We plan to do some gardening but not sure what to plant yet. I want to do it Disney style, keep all the plants in the pots so I can take one out when it dies. And they will die.

Morning nanners...

WARM day on tap here!! Should break 70*. The air is starting to smell like spring, and not just stale, sterile winter.

I'm going to go through my seed catalog tonight and finally make some decisions on what to grow this year. I am getting some really great planting ideas off Pinterest! I saw one thing where you grow cucumbers up the frame and lettuce underneath....genius! I also discovered bulbs of some kind coming up over by the stream edge. More than anything I want to get some flowers around here.
