Actually I think coffee beats bacon. But that's just me.

Hmm. That's different. Might be good, as long as it wasn't overwhelming.

Daisyyy, love the new ticker.

Mmm, bacon.

It was a run by fruiting! Some disgruntled member of the waitstaff. Did you not tip them enough?

Sorry. Love Mrs. Doubtfire.

Hi, Nanners!

So I've had knee surgery and am on the proverbial mend. I was supposed to be off crutches in 2-3 days, and we're on day 6. Just talked to my dr's office and they think I should be walking by now. Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Hmph.

Anyway, I'm frustrated. I've tried, and it's like a rag doll effect, leg just goes right out from under me. They've given me some advice as to how to get there, so I'll keep trying. They make recovery sound so easy! Too bad what I got told isn't the reality of the situation. And believe me, I am trying. I can only push so hard without hurting myself. I'm so frustrated. I said that already. Apparently I'm really frustrated.

Thanks for listening.

How nice of them to armchair quarterback your recovery. Everyone recovers at different rates. I'm sure you will get better soon. Just on your time, not their's.

Thanks.

I tried walking tonight with one crutch. I can do it but it's slow going and I can feel how weak the muscles are. I tried to push enough but not to the point of pain, and now I've got it wrapped again for compression and iced for swelling.

So hopefully tomorrow I'll get even further, as it were. And then soon I can be one of these dudes

Wow I can't even imagine hopping right now. Although technically I do a great left leg hop.

Oh.... just be careful.... you dont want to re injure it.... if you do too much it may cause more damage... but on the otherhand if you want to rebuild up the strenght to get it back to normal.... your body will tell you when it's time to rest it.

Thank you, ladies!

Now that I am "pushing" myself, I'm cautious and have been icing my knee as needed. Walking with one crutch is slightly easier today than it was yesterday.

I feel like Bob.

Baby steps onto the bus.

Morning, Nanners!

Trying to be positive for today. Oddly woke up at 300am and couldn't fall back asleep. That wasn't so much fun. Fortunately I have a toddler who naps (most days) so there could be one of those in my future.

Walking with one crutch, may try no crutches later when MJS is home. We'll see!

TarzansKat, go at your body's pace. You're doing great! And I hate those 3AM wakeful mornings. I hope your toddler goes down for a nap so you can get one too!

Thank you! My body definitely tells me when it's had enough.

My little punk, as I like to call him sometimes, decided napping at 345 was a great idea. I am not down with this plan. Since he obviously needs it, though, I am going to wake him up in about an hour. That way he will still, in fact, sleep tonight.

Good news on the recovery front, my first post op appt got moved from Thursday to Wednesday, so I will get to see my doctor tomorrow! I'm pretty excited about it so I can ask him questions and check on my progress.
