We will also be there to bring grandaughter to meet them so could buy the tickets then for all of us. Am I correct that I would only be able to get the ones for DH, DS, DGD and myself since she will not have had time to change her address and name?
I would have Future DIL stop by DMV to change address before wedding. Name would stay the same until after.

Btw, they will have same wedding anniversary as me! 16 years later, my DL still has my maiden name. I'll change it for our 25th anniversary or when I retired, whichever comes first. Lol!

Oh that is good. I dont think it was the DVC site where I read that, but on another fan site.

This won't help - changing addresses. Because Until they get married, she is still not immediate family so not entitled to the DVC priced pass.

I would be curious about this too. I just renewed my DH's reg. AP in August and it will stink if he has a regular AP until next summer and I have a PAP starting in January (when my AP expires). Guess we won't use any of the water park perks from my PAP if he doesn't have them on his AP. We stagger our AP purchases from many years ago and it has always worked good for us since we only put out money for 1 AP every 6 months, but this throws a monkey wrench into our plans now. I guess we really won't know anything until after Oct. 1 when this goes live. I keep thinking if they let folks who activate their hopper passes prior to Oct. 1 and let them use them towards the purchase, they too will be outside the promotion dates of Oct 1-Dec 31. Guess we'll find out in 2 weeks.

I think you are talking about 2 different posts. The member whose son is getting married on Sept 28 and the new DIL will be moving in will be eligible by the time they go on their trip, she just will not have ID with her new name and address. The tickets cannot be purchased until Oct 1 so she will be eligible. Nothing unethical.

Yeppers.

So she changes her ID to show the reality of the address, with the explanation that they are on their honeymoon so IF she's changing her name, she won't have that process done by that time. Vacation destinations understand this.

Odd timing on my situation...think I need to be creative??

My APs expired on 23 Aug. I purchased vouchers online to 'renew' as regular DVC APs within the 30 day window. They are e-vouchers/will-call.

Next trip is on 28+29 Sep...Before I can buy a DVC PAP or DVC PAP voucher we'll be there and back home. But we go back in October for Food and Wine.

So what are my options?

  1. Use the current renewal AP voucher and stay regular AP this year and buy vouchers so we can upgrade to the PAP in 2013?
  2. Save our regular AP vouchers and buy MYW tickets for that weekend and buy PAP vouchers that we can use when we go back in October to have PAPs for this year and use the regular APs to 'downgrade' in 2013?

Any other options?

Are your September & October trips spanning 14 days or less? And how many days would you be buying and how many days would you be using?

You must upgrade tickets within 14 days of first use AND you have to do the upgrade on the day you use the last entitlement on the ticket or before.

So that ticket option may not be feasible regardless of which choice is a better deal.

Trying to be creative too and think I'm in a good position [2 for] where my regular AP renews on 10/14 ahead of our trip on 10/19 and another visit in January. What I'm planning on doing is renewing to the PAP this time around, spend the extra $14 per pass and buying two vouchers for PAP passes that I'll redeem next year ahead of our 10/18 trip. Yes, I'm paying twice as much but getting two years of PAPs beginning 10/14 for the price and assumed increase of next years regular AP. The only drawback, pending any other promotions is that I'll have to go with the DVC AP [not renewal] effective October 2014.

We're in a similar situation but actually better. Our APs are set to renew 10/14 ahead of our trip on 10/19 and then again in January. I think I'm in a 2 for situation where I can renew to PAP this year and buy two vouchers for next year, when we plan on going down for F&W in October.... probably the 10/18
So what are my options?

Thanks for the reply Vicki!

Nope - don't return within 14 days...so that won't work.

Setting aside the 2 days in Sept - I guess we can just save the current renewal voucher for the future and buy a PAP voucher before the Oct trip.

If we do that then our new PAP would renew in October of 2013 - would our renewal voucher for the regular AP reset us back to August or would it renew us from October on?

If you used your renewal voucher to renew in October 2013, your date will stay at October.
