$452 / 1.065 = $424 and change so the pre-tax price of your AP was probably $425, which is the current price for DVC APs.

I didn't even think about upgrading MY CURRENT one as well so that I could use the "added magic" Oct 5-12!! Problem is, I have no idea what I paid for it. Same with my 4 year old's child DVC AP. How can I find out? Would DVC MS know?
This wouldn't be an upgrade subject to those dollar amount rules discussed if I'm still understanding it right. It would be a renewal so what you paid for that expiring pass is irrelevant. You could just go and renew to the DVC PAP for $399. I assume that is cheaper than a renewal would be without the special DVC offer? If not, that might not make sense then.

What you wrote about your husband's was the right idea, since it was a voucher not a live expiring pass that you wanted to renew, but as Lisa pointed out, your price calculations looked wrong.

You're right, I paid $424 + tax for DH's pass because it was AFTER the price increase. Switched my numbers around!
So I'm out of luck then for that one, I assuming? If I understood the previous 12 pages correctly, I can "leave" this DVC AP voucher behind and buy him a new one with the promotion on 10/5/2012...... then activate this first one when his promotional one expires Oct 5, 2013.

Does that sound right?

Well then, that settles it! I will be writing a STRONGLY worded letter to the White Star Lines in the morning! (.......anybody happen to still have their address por favor?)

If the purchase is through Member Services, you will receive a voucher that must be redeemed no later than December 31, 2013.

If you are doing the purchase or upgrade at any Park (including TTC, DTD, water parks or Epcot International Gateway) ticket or Guest Relations window you will receive live tickets. Guests must present their DVC Membership Card. They may also purchase PAPs for immediate family members residing in the same household; Adults must provide proof they reside at the same address.

Normal procedures will apply for upgrades.

Note that you cannot upgrade from a pass with a higher Gate price than $399.00 (plus tax).

Florida Residents cannot use the Monthly Payment Plan for these tickets.
This is excellent news! Thank you

JoeATC - I agree. Seems silly that because I paid $25 MORE, I can't change my voucher. I have been trying to call WDW ticketing but there is a 30+ minute wait. I am going to bite the bullet and wait on hold as soon as I have an hour to kill

This probably doesn't bring in the cashflow that they were looking for. ??

Exactly. They are looking to sell new AP's, not upgrade ones already sold for free. It's unfortunate for those caught in the middle.

OK - clarify for us again please...those of us with prepaid will call vouchers for renewals can just hold those indefinitely since they do not expire, correct?

So I could buy a new voucher for the PAP for 2012 then another voucher for the PAP for 2013 and use my current will call vouchers to go back to the AP for 2014?

Incidentally - I paid $385+tax for the renewal vouchers ($410.03 w/tax)...if that matters.

I guess we just found a disadvantage of pre-buying your vouchers!

Talking

Just purchased our PAP's for pick-up when our trip starts 10/8!! Do I get an extra discount for being the first to post that the PAP's are purchased!?

Now we have AP's to last us till 2018 at least. Thank goodness the previous AP vouchers we purchased never expire.

You have to redeem them in person.

And the big question is will they know how to do it.

I would pose this question to CF. Since your vouchers are renewals, you may be able to upgrade. (I'm no expert here, just guessing). I asked CF if my DH could upgrade his renewed AP that he picked up in August to the new PAP and they responded, YES. He would have to pay $14.91 additional. He renewed in August and the renewal price was $385 plus tax, which is below the price of the new PAP. Since your vouchers are for renewals I'm thinking you can pay the difference and get the PAP. I would look into this question more if I were you. Most folks who are having issues are those hold vouchers for NEW APs which cost $425 plus tax (above the $399).
