Ronstadt has lost her voice-Parkinsons

I'm so sad for Linda Ronstadt. She's recently been diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease and can no longer sing. She had a beautiful voice, sang Opera, Blues, Country, Classics, Rock, Pop. This morning, I've been playing all her albums and singing with her/for her. What a devasting disease for someone of her talent and passion.

Wow, thats really sad. It's the first I've heard of it. She was one of my fave female singers growing up. My prayers are with her.

I loved the Big Band type stuff that she did years ago. She was always one to try every type of music and do it all well.

This is very sad.

Sad. My father in law had this and after a couple of years we could not understand him.

I remember a tirade she did about "certain" people she didn't want at her concerts. Karma, maybe?

Probably shouldn't invoke Karma unless it comes around to bite you next.

How sad. I just watched her in Pirates of Penzance with Kevin Klein. She was amazing.

Unfortunately, unless her loss of voice is due to something other than Parkinson's, she probably won't recover. There is currently no cure for Parkinson's and it's a progressively debilitating disease. It does affect different people in different ways; Michael J. Fox has no problems with his voice (as far as I can tell), but he suffers terribly with tremors.
