Wait a second... hold the horses. I've read the posts... i've read the official Disney site... so I can really get a PREMIUM ANNUAL PASS for $399? No catch? This just seams SO un-Disneylike. SQUEEZE has been the theme recently (jack up the rates on those DVC points!).
You just know what they say... if it seems too good to be true...

And if i'm reading this correctly... i can purchase through the end of the year... not activate until 12/31/13 and use it through 12/31/14?

No catch. You could even buy multiple vouchers and use one now from Oct 2012 through October 2013 and then activate the next voucher in October 2013.

Unfortunately, we're using the back end of our annual pass in January... and it's the only trip we can make next year... which is why i was wondering about activating 12/31/13 and using all of 2014. I'm planning on taking the kids to Disney in 2014 for an extended tour in the RV when school lets out.

Ok, so we have regular annual pass (3) and expire 4/28/13, it would do me no good to get this special deal that would end in end of 2013 would it ? We will only be making one more trip in fall of 2013.

If you are going back to Disney after April of 2013, then yes it is a deal for you. You have until Dec. 31, 2013 to activate the pass and then it's good for 1 year from activation.
So if you go in October of 2013 then it is good until Oct. 2014.
You just have to buy the passes between Oct. and Dec 2012.

As a general rule "hard ticketed" events are NOT included in any AP. That includes games at ESPN, Mickey's Halloween and Christmas parties, Night of Joy etc... So if they charge for cheerleading then assume you have to pay. Maybe you can get a discount?

Yes, I believe as of this year they no longer differentiate between adults and children for the annual passes, it's the same price across the board.

I am going to try and upgrade the UK Ultimate 14 day when I go in October, it costs about the same as the PAP at the minute but don't imagine I will manage it!

I have read the internal notice for ticketing people and have checked with WDW Ticketing Administration.

The notice specifically states that:

"Note: Upgraded ticket price must be an equal or greater value."

So that if you have a current AP, or a voucher/certificate/will-call for an AP, you cannot do this upgrade.

However, you c an purchase a voucher before December 31, 2012 and use it after your current AP expires in 2013.

This makes me sad I was really hoping since ours wasn't active we would be able to exchange them. The voucher will do us no good because after our AP expire we won't be taking another trip until Sept 2014. Oh well.

What if you have a child AP voucher purchased before the price increase? I believe those annual passes were cheaper than the PAP price.
