$60.00 per child, twice a month for 90 minutes. September through the first week of May. If you volunteer to teach, your kids are free.

We are in a small seaside town in Mass. It is $40 yr per child from Oct until April. Pretty reasonable I think and if you do volunteer to teach, one child in the family is free! It is called Faith Formation now here too.

Wow! I need to raise our rates!

$40 for 1 child, $50 for 2, $60 for 3 or more and we have a clause of "no one will be denied a religious education if you can not pay". K-12 grade

It's been that way for over 8 years.

Classes meet Sept to 1st week of May--weekly one hour and 15 minutes, except for major holidays with 2 family days for Advent and Lent and then family days for sacrament prep. No additional sacrament charges.

I have $11,000 budget for books and materials, classroom supplies and the fees don't nearly cover the budget, so most of the budget comes from the general collection. Each child book is $20 and teacher's book is about $40 and then I buy posters, scissors, crayons, etc. anything and everything used for teaching for the year.

approximately 120 students enrolled

All catechists are volunteers

DD(3rd grade) DS (8th grade) $50 a child. Its nothing extra if its a sacrament year.

I'm going to homeschool DD this year . We can do that if its not a sacrament year. Her faith formation class is Sunday mornings if she went.

I can't homeschool DS since he will make his confirmation next fall. His class is Wednesday evenings 6-7:30 starting next week. Its going to be tough getting him back and forth due to sports games and practices for him and DD.
I wish they offered his class on Sundays too.

They changed our confirmation to the 10th grade a few years ago.

$50 Sept-Easter, is what I paid per child when I lived in Ohio. I would teach so I didn't have to pay. (Loved teaching) Class was 90 minutes, however the studetns were suppose to go to Mass before their lessons. It made for a very long morning.
Mass schedule changed shortly after I left and they only had time for a 1 hour class.

PS. I don't think third graders are old enough for Confirmation. They need to be able to understand what they are commiting too and why, otherwise they are just going through the motions. When I taught third graders they were still trying to understand everything they experienced with Reconciliation and First Communion, so not ready for Confirmation.

Now I know why I volunteer to teach....

I've been a CCD teacher for 4 years, so I lost track of the cost. But here's the breakdown:

$100 one child
$200 two children
$275 three children
$325 four or more children
$75 addition fee for First Communion or Confirmation

We meet for 26 weeks, 1 hr 10 min each class. If I didn't teach, it would cost me $400 per year (4 kids and at least one was receiving a sacrament).

$165 per child (I think there is a discount for each add'l child). Class is 90 min. a week. 40 hrs. are required per year. There are add'l costs for sacrament years (grades 2 & 6). They are thinking of changing confirmation to 8th grade.

Class is Tues/Wed. 4:30-6 or Wed. 6:30-8pm.

Ours is called PSR Parish School of Religion, I still say CCD. It runs every Sunday excluding school holidays Sept -May 10:45 am - 12pm. It's $45 for one child, 2 for $80 and 3 or more is $100. Confirmation is made in the 9th grade and I paid $32 for that but only because I already had the books from other dd, or I think it would've been $60ish? Confirmation classes run Sundays 10:45 till 1 from Sept to Dec 5th.

It's free in South MS. The classes are 75 minutes and follow the public school schedule for holidays.
