Silliest question/comment you've heard about Disney?

This came to mind after an, at length, conversation with a frequent Disney vacationer about Swan and Dolphin being the best hotels that Disney has.

Me: "They aren't Disney Hotels."
CoWoker: "But, they are on Disney property."
Me: "Yes but, still, they are not Disney owned hotels." Then came the looking around the Internet to prove me wrong. LOL!

My other favorite. "Is it true that all of EPCOT is inside the big golf ball?"

I mean, that would be cool and there are plenty of amusement parks around the world that are INDOORS but... no... LOL!

I seriously had a friend/coworker argue with me for about 20 minutes that alcohol is served at MK. When I tried to nicely explain that it has never been served there, she got more and more belligerent even telling me that "her brother bought a beer across the street from its a small world" when they were there last month. I finally had to drop it since she was getting so irate. She's a person who can never be wrong!

My favorite is people who don't understand that the per-day ticket price gets cheaper the longer you stay. I've been told, "Must be nice to be able to afford eight days at WDW. We can't afford that, so we are doing one day at Sea World, one at Disney, one at Universal, one at Legoland..."

I had the strangest conversation with someone who normally knows more than I about stuff that everything in Orlando is owned by Disney. They wanted to visit Seaworld, Universal, etc and expected to get it all in a Disney package including Disney buses.

They were so adamant I just had no idea how to approach the conversation...

Once when I was walking off the monorail at Magic Kingdom to enter the park, I heard someone say quite loudly and angrily to a cast member, "What do you mean the monorail doesn't go to Sea World?" I got quite a laugh out of that.

When I told my BIL he really didn't need a rental car while staying on Disney property, he angrily told me he wanted to do the safari at Animal Kingdom, and how would he "be able to drive through it if he didn't have a car?"

So funny... this one gets me every time. Since 2005, we have gone for 11-12 days on average. By the time you buy a 5 day ticket, you might just as well get the 10-day ticket because it's only a few dollars more. It averages out so much cheaper. Then we have added free dining. So basically, the latter half of our 12-day trips we have only been paying for the hotel room. If you're staying at a Value, it is less than staying at a Hampton Inn (and who really cares what the room is like... you're never in it ). We have access to all the parks, have a table service, a counter service, and a snack per person, per day... and -- big-time bonus --my kids get to order whatever they want at every meal.

But, people just don't see it this way... "I don't see how you afford 12 days at Disney" or "Disney's great once, but I'd rather see all the other great places our country has" or "How do you stand staying at Disney that long?" I just smile to myself knowing there's no place on earth our family of 5 would rather be.

And as this post and others have said. I know a family that thinks universal is owned by disney??? but I don't think that is uncommon! lol.

I met someone who swore she paid extra to have front of the line fastpasses at WDW. When I mentioned Universal she said she had never been there...

While your coworker was probably wrong in this case, MK DOES serve alcohol. Just not during normal operation. There have been several private events held there in which they do open up the taps . (Well, the boxes...since the alcohol isn't on tap there there'd be nothing to open). It's a bit outside the norm though.

I did have people plan to go over major holidays thinking that it wouldn't be busy... after all, who spends Christmas/Easter at Disney? Other than that, nothing very interesting.

My next door neighbors went to Florida last summer and I asked her if they were going to Disney.. She said that her boys who are 6 and 11 are too old for Disney because it is for little kids.. Really?

I just took a survey for Universal and there were several questions along the line of "Now, you know Universal isn't affiliated with Disney, right?" Crazy! Maybe people think Disney owns everything in Orlando?!

Woohoo! More room for us! I hope their "big kids" get to make a trip sometime though; that's sad.
