Hotel cose to Disney Grand California Hotel?

My family is staying at Disneys Grand California Villas and now my sister is going but will stay offsite. Which offsite hotel is the closet walking distance to Disneys Grand California?

Also, Im wondering if they walk to our hotel can they use the same park entrance as us? Maybe it is a public entrance near the hotel....I have never been there before.

Anabella Hotel is the closest to the GCH.

Offsite the closest would probably be the Anabella or Stovall's on Katella Ave. They say its about a 10 minute walk to the GCH.

My understanding is that anyone can use the Grand's DCA entrance after 11 a.m. or so. Before that you could meet and use the Downtown Disney entrance from the Grand Californian.

I've never done it myself, but know some who have.

http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.809...2&z=16&l=0&m=b is a link to the area. You can zoom out and get a really nice view.

Non hotel guests will not be able to use the entrance at the Grand Californian - they check IDs. Now anybody can use that exit.

If you are going first thing in the morning, then no, they will not be able to use the GCH entrance - it is for hotel guests only and each person has to have a room key. We have gone in and out during the rest of the day many times and have never had anyone ask to see our room key. I think it's only in the morning that it's restricted.

I don't know where they will be coming from, but if you are going in the morning it might be just as easy for you to meet in the lobby or DTD and go in the main entrance together.

I'm going to buck the trend and suggest she stay at BWPPI on Harbor. She'll be going to DL and DCA too so it would be the fastest for her in the mornings, especially since she can't use the GCH special entrance. It will be shorter for her at night too. Walk through the esplanade, cross Harbor and she'd be on the doorstep of her hotel. It's a pretty far walk to the Anabella or Stovall's.
