Gac Question

we get a Gac for my son and I carry it on my lanyard. My kids are a bit older now and the three of them ride a few rides without me. I hate giving them my lanyard as I am afraid that they may lose it, the pass or my pins. Do you think it would be a gaff or a problem to get a second GAC for my daughters lanyard? It would just be for us and like I said a few of the rides I just do not want to go on. The thought of Mission Space makes me want to throw up. The only reason why I bring it up is they took my lanyard onto Test Track last time and it came back a couple pins short.

Ideas?

I don't think they would do it to be honest with you. The rule is that the GAC holder (the person it's written for) must be present for its use. Writing 2 would leave the system open for a group to split up and possibly lie about who actually needs access. I'm not at all saying this is what you're trying to do, just why Guest Services would probably deny it. I think you're best off getting another lanyard, one for pins, one for GAC.

When we had this problem, we just purchased a second lanyard or case for our keys to the world cards (one for me and one for my husband) and anytime we split up, we just make sure that who over is with my daughter has her GAC in their case.

Thanks I was just wondering. I wouldn't let him wander the park without me, I am afraid he would have too much fun then . And no it would not be so I could go one way and he the other. I just was thinking so it would one he could carry and me the other nothing else. Like I said it was just a thought.

If he is carrying it when you are not with him, why not just have him carry it all the time?

He hates carrying lanyards, one of his things is stuff around his neck such as tags on his shirts and things. One of his sisters are the one holding it when the three of them go on the ride. I tried on many occasions to get him to carry a lanyard for pin trading but it ends up me carrying two lanyards.

When you are not riding with him, take the GAC out of your lanyard and hand it to his sister.

There is no way that they would allow you to have 2 GAC's for the same person, it leaves to much room for abuse of the GAC! Why can't he just pop it in a wallet or in his pocket? We never put ours in anything other then our pocket or bag, we just grab it before going through the line and then put it away after ( out son also will not wear it) but he is fine with having it in his pocket etc if needed although we ride All rides with him anyways as we enjoy all the rides.

We had a snotty CM that wouldn't even let us have 2 GAC even though we have 2 kids that needed them. She was adamant that they could only issue 1 per family. ( I have since learned otherwise and we WILL be getting 2 when we go for Spring Break next year) Why not just get your daughter a lanyard & switch the GAC over to her's the few times you split up?

Or you could go through the line with them and just not ride.

Guest Assistance Card...there's a sticky at the top of the forum that explains them in great detail but I can't link to it when I am posting from my phone. The short version is it is a card Disney offers to guests that they can show to the CMs at the shows/attractions within the parks so that the CMs can give additional assistance to guests who need that additional assistance due to hidden disabilities. The sticky will explain it much better!

Follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, then go to post 6, which is about Guest Assistance Cards.

They are very basically a card that gives Cast Members a little bit of explanation about the needs a particular guest has, related to their disability. They are ment to help prevent having to totally explain the needs at each attraction. Guests may still have some explaining to do, but the card is at least a start.

Guests who have a visible need don't usually need a GAC because the CM Can see what they need. GACs are more for invisible needs where a CM might not even be aware that the guest has any needs.
