Can you give me some examples of Fish Extender gifts that you have gotten or given??

I am not at all a creative or crafty person, and I am trying to decide if I want to do the FE group on our first cruise next June. I can't for the life of me think of any ideas on what I would give! Any help??

Many trinkets for the kids (inflatable is what we like to give.... LIGHT to pack), but for adults, those little bottles of alcohol. It helps to know your receiver in advance to ensure that's appropriate (we had many "tastings" scheduled so I knew what my receivers liked). The person who organized our FE also planned a "secret Mickey" where each person received something more special ($20 mark) as a gift. THAT was fun! They had us do a "tell me about yourself" and forwarded the info to the giver. I received a personalized FE (gradysmom) and my husband received payment for Palo.

Anything pirate themed is popular, as are glow sticks or other light up gifts. For girls, princess anything is good. Kids are easy; the adults are a lot more difficult.

For kids--hit the dollar store. THey are likely to have Disney Princess packs of pens, pencils, notepads, sometimes coloring books and crayons. Sometimes they have Cars themed items too. This is nice because often these are in multiples--8-10 pencils, 6 pens, 4-6 notepads, etc. These can be opened and divided so a kid gift bag can be made up--pencil or pen + pad/coloring book + glow stick.

We've gotten "goodie bags" of cruise necessities--a couple bandaids, marker, hand sanitizer, individual sealed packs of ibuprofen, etc. One gift was a multi-prong outlet adapter. We've also gotten some give aways from some people's places of employment--a sun visor, exercise bands.

Among other things, I am including a postcard from my city.

I also had magenets made via Vistaprint, but that was for one of the canceled spring 8 nights.

Thing we've received: water bottles (personalized), post cards from home towns, local recipies, candy, individual sized - hand sanitizer, first aid kits (bandaids, wipes, asprin), laundry soap, make-it-yourself foam picture frames, candy, disney themed tote bags, magnets, local-made candy, dry erase note boards for the door, christmas ornaments, pencils, note pads, candy, glow sticks, temporary tatoos (pirates, disney themed), momento books, CDs, candy, goody bag things (plastic rings, bracelets, necklaces), straws, candy, necklaces, earrings.

There's more, but that's all I can come up with off the top of my head.

FE = Fish Extender. Outside your door there's a holder (with a fish on it) for receiving messages.

From the FAQ sticky above, here's a link that explains it more:

Basically it's a secret Santa kind of gift exchange.

I have given pirate stuff, ornaments from our state and Disney goodies. On our last cruise someone gave us a snow globe that we could put a picture in and it had our name and cruise date on it. That was pretty cool.

I had received all sorts of stuff from postcards, stickers, magnets and keychains to name a few. I had given out Chapstick which was something easy to carry in bulk and usually the thing I forget to pack.

In February we handed out Pirate Swords with the family's last name, and Micky/Minnie Mouse heads with the individuals names. They were made of wood and had magnets attached. We also had a postcard that we had previously signed with various character names. We made copies of that as well. For the kids we gave glow sticks with Disney ribbon wrapped around the container.

We got all kinds of cool stuff: pirate buttons, candy, mini champagne bottles, sun screen, disney band-aids, princess items, etc.
