Refillable Mug Question

I was going over my paperwork for our trip 9/29-10/5. We booked a split stay and are checking in BC CL 9/29 and checking in 10/1 BCV. Both reservation itinerary/paperwork/Mickey Mail things say *Resort refillable mug (1, 2, 3) Does this mean we get refillable mugs for BOTH stays? So six mugs total? How would we claim them? I have never gotten refillable mugs before and am not sure why they are on our reservation at all. We're on the DDP but not DxDDP.

Refillable mugs are included with all the dining plans. We even get them with our QSDP.

Sounds like you get 6 mugs! Each time you check in you are a "new" guest.

Is this new this year then? We always do DDP and have NEVER had refillable mugs. I thought it was just DxDDP. And how do I claim them? And are we really going to get SIX of them?

You will only get one refillable mug (per person). You will recieve them when you go to the foodcourt and claim them (you'll have a valcher for them; probably on your room keys). I love the mugs. They are great! All you can drink the whole time you are there.

We have done the Dining plan 5 times and have never gotten our mugs, because we just didn't know they came with the plan. This time we are staying at BC and plan to get the mugs--lol.

Mug credits are now including on all the dining plans. Previously the "regular" DDP did not have the mug credits.

The credits are tied to your dining plan, so I think the number of mugs will be determined by when your dining plan starts and ends. I don't have experience with split stays so I don't know if you'll get 3 or 6 mug credits -- I would guess 3 unless your reservations have two entirely separate dining plans?

To get the mugs you pick them out at your resort food area and then you pay for them using your KTTW card with mug credits, like a meal or snack credit.

Good to know! I've never done the refillable mug thing So where at the BC would I go? The food store near the gift shop? I think I saw fountain drinks there last year. I know that for our first ressie we get two days of DDP and for the last ressie we get four days of DDP and they are split. I bet the mug credits are split too.

Yes, at the Beach Club, go to the Marketplace and you should be able to get the mugs there.

When I stayed at Yacht Club I walked over to BC Marketplace to use the self-serve refill station there, as there's no self-serve station on the YC side.

DDP started providing refillable mugs in 2012. Before that, DDP didn't include refillable mugs. So it's a fairly new benefit of DDP. If you have a split stay, and both stays include DDP, you get free mugs with each stay. Disney considers a split stay to be two separate reservations, thus the receipt of two refillable mugs if the two reservations including dining. Some people will go ahead and get the two separate mugs, some keep using the mugs from the first of their two stays. It's up to you. I don't find anything compelling about the mugs, that I would want two of them, but that's me. Just pick up a mug off the shelf and take it to a food court cashier, along with your KTTW card containing your dining credits.

It sounds like you will get the mugs twice then! Redeem them for sure, they make nice souvenirs, you can bring them back for someone if you aren't going to use them for yourself! You've paid for them technically thru your dining plan. Or if you really are feeling generous, pixie dust them by giving one or two to a family, you can always tell the new arrivals.
Sounds like a great trip!

Well the cup states that it is only good for refills from the resort you get it until that resort stay is up...so according to their rules.......looks like you should get 6 cups if you're staying at 2 resorts.

Your split stay is at the Beach Club and Beach Club Villas, correct? I would think that even though they are considered "different" resorts, they would have the same refillable mugs (since both resorts use the same restaurants, etc). I don't see why you would recieve 2 sets of mugs, since they are both the same.

YES you definitely get 2 sets of mugs, one for each stay. They are considered totally different reservations at different hotels and you actually pay for the mugs with each dining plan package you bought (the mugs are not really "free"...the cost is of course figured into the pricing on the dining plans.) You paid for 2 plans, you get 2 sets of mugs plain & simple.

For a split stay, you will technically & really check out of the first resort, and your dining plan from that stay ends at midnight of that day (so make sure you use up all credits, including snack credits, from the first hotel by midnight of the day you switch hotels...use 'em or lose 'em! If you still have credits on first stay, keep your hotel key cards from first stay until you use up the credits that day (they cannot put leftover credits on your new hotel key cards.) Your new dining plan starts the minute you check into the 2nd hotel, and you will again be eligible for a set of mugs (one per person on each set.) So on the check out/check in day you could possibly have both leftover credits from first stay & new credits for the new hotel...don't mix 'em up, lol.

All of the mugs are the same at every resort...there are various handle & lid colors so it's easy for each of you to pick a different color handle/lid so you can tell who each mug belongs to. Hubby usually goes for the black version, I like the hot pink, blue or yellow. Some resorts only have 3 colors...we were just at Beach Club Labor Day weekend and they had the hot pink , bright blue and black combinations available while we were there. You do get them at Marketplace/Beach Club...they will be on a rack near snacks/soda fountain area. Pick your mugs up, and go through the check-out...give then your hotel key card (only need to give them one, they will ring up all 3 mug entitlements from one room card.) They'll cut off the theft-control device. Then you take them over to the soda fountain area, rinse them out and fill with your choice of coffee, cocoa, tea, coca-cola soda fountain drinks. We use the hot-water from the coffee/tea machine to rinse ours out. The only time you have to take the beverage cup through the check out is when you first get them...after that, if you're just getting a drink you can just walk in & fill your mug & leave.

I would get both sets of mugs and just save the 2nd ones as souvenirs for someone else...does your child have friends that would like to get a souvenir mug? Or a niece or nephew? You paid for it, might as well take it
