For the tastings, go to Guest Services. For Remy, go to Remy.

I went to guest services right away to find out when the tastings were each day and then I bought tickets right there and then. The only problem is that it is sometimes difficult to know whether the tasting will conflict with something else you might want to do. I knew we wanted tickets to the tea with Alice, so i specifically asked about the times for that (and got tickets to that at the same time). But several days later, I did find out that our Margarita tasting conflicted with an art of the cruise ship tour. Still, having tasty margaritas compensated for that somewhat!

I'm not sure if they allow you to cancel a ticket once you have purchased it.

I thought the Art of the Ship tour was held on multiple days - at least on the 7 day cruises.

We were on a 5 day out of NYC, so there weren't as many offerings (there weren't as many different tastings, either). Hope to catch the tour and a few more tastings on our 7 day cruise in November. So far, over the course of three cruises, we have done beer, wine, martini, margarita, and cognac. The only one we didn't enjoy was cognac.

The Tea with the princesses tickets may be turned back in at guest services so somene else may enjoy them, and they are free. On the 7 day cruises there were 2 days. Aloha, Karen

Do you need to buy tickets for tastings the day you board or can you wait a little bit. Since this is our first cruise, I want to give it a day or so to see if my boys are going to take to the kids clubs the way I'm hoping they will. Are you charged for the tickets if you end up not using them, or can you turn them in before the event?

On the Fantasy I signed up for the Remy Brunch at Remy. I signed up for the tastings at La Piazza, most of the tastings were booked though and that was on the first day so I wouldn't wait to buy tickets. That being said, several people without tickets showed up to Mixology and the bartenders let them join in (after they paid of course.)

On our Fantasy cruise last week, we had booked the martini tasting the first day, but many people showed up without tickets and were allowed in ( also, after paying).

Later on in the cruise we thought we would try Mixology (without having tickets) and were told it was full with people on a waiting list.

So, I guess if they feel there is availability, they will let you in day of, but if they think they've reached capacity, you may be out of luck. I think if I ever tried to do one of those day of again, I would try to show up as early as possible.

See? This is why I'm so glad I read here!! DH did the whiskey tasting on the 3 night cruise, and we just booked it that day when we saw it on the Navigator!
Now, I think I will check with Guest Services right away and book all tastings at once so as not to miss out!

Thanks all!

You can just turn the tickets in to GS before the event. That's what I did, with no problems.

The mixology classes tend to have a set number of people allowed because of the set up and the hands on experience. They have changed a little cruise-to-cruise and ship-to-ship. The very first ones were on the Magic on a transatlantic cruise and only had 10 people at a time (the added some classes over the course of this long cruise). You actually went behind the bar and mixed the drinks that the class all shared. It was great fun.

On the Hawaii cruise this spring they actually had a mixology contest. Teams were set up (that included a DCL bar CM as well as guests) and they were given a box with a list of some type of alcohol and a garnish and one of those items had to be used in the drink the team made up on the spot. Two judges tasted and ranked them and all participants got some of each drink. A frined was a contestant and I was able to come in and witness the contest (hence the reason for my fuzzy memory on what was in the box). It was great fun and I hope they offer something like this again, at least on the longer cruises and maybe the 7 day cruises too!

What is typically the cost for the tastings per person? DH and I are hoping to do a few on our cruise.

You can turn in the tickets to the tea with no problem, but I'm really not sure about the tastings since you pay for them ahead of time. I wonder if the cancellation period is like Palo? The problem is, you might not know about a conflicting activity until that day's navigator comes out.

I think they're about $15 per person.
