DVC discounts on Panama Canal Cruise
My wife and I almost bought into the DVC when we did the last two WBTA. At the time the money was a stretch. We have been blessed to afford it now and have a question. It seems that on the cruise when we went to the presentation there was a notable discount. If that is the case, we are doing the Panama Canal cruise on the Wonder in September of next year and may be served to wait. If not, it would make sense to join now and use this year and next years points for the cruise. Any input would be really appreciated. Also, if you met us and have a DCV number we can use as a reference we will be more than happy to apply it.
My wife and I were both in law enforcement. I retired as a deputy chief and she as a detective. In 2009 we traveled as a couple. In 2011 as parents of a nine month old (Red hair!!!)
Thanks for any help you could advise.

The only DVC DCL discount I am aware of is the 10percent booking discount. If you book a cruise within seven days of finishing a cruise, you get about a 10 percent discount on the new cruise. The discount isn't always 10 percent, but every little bit helps. I always use my points to book my DCL cruises. I'm usually on a cruise when the new itineraries come out, so I usually save on the points for my next cruise.
I think DVC did some last minute point discounts for some of the cruises for August this year( don't remember when they announced it) but that is not the norm.
