How do you make magic for your kids?

What little extras do you do for your kids on vacation? We have an almost 3 year old (going to be at the world for his birthday) and a 4 month old who won't remember it anyway. We got them each a new toy for the car trip (some films for older DS's ViewMaster and Sophie the Giraffe for baby). I'm making autograph cards for DStoddler and I think I'll make a Disney themed birthday banner to hang up for him to see when he wakes up on his actual birthday. I printed off a few snack bag toppers (one for each day) and a Cars themed sign for our stroller from a DISigner. We also got Mickey Mouse Halloween fruit snacks for the trip too. Any other inexpensive ideas?

I like to print up a letter in Disney font and put clipart around it. Each day the kids get a note from a specific character inviting them to do something that day. It could be from Mickey inviting them to eat breakfast at Chef Mickey's, from Crush inviting them to visit him at his tank (Turtle Talk) etc. It just depends on what we have scheduled for the day that determines who they get a letter from. I also get Disney related items and hide them in my suitcase. The character leaves a gift for them. I can get Disney related toys, coloring books, etc at home for much cheaper than I can get a bunch of souvenirs at WDW. I look for deals at the Disney Store and stock up on character shirts when they have them on sale. They'll get a new shirt a few of the mornings. Since they are getting a toy/book/shirt or whatever each morning they don't ask for as many souvenirs when we are at the park.

My plan for our next trip is to give my girls some Disney pajamas and a stuffed princess doll on the first day. I plan to leave them on the bed so when we come back to the room, they are there as a surprise. I am also ordering a gift basket for the whole family with Disney goodies, also a surprise. I have started collecting little toys to give them each day, hopefully cutting down on some souvenir costs! I also made them autograph books, but they know about those. Shannon at has a lot of great ideas. She calls them Tinkerbell gifts.
