Tell me I'll survive Splash Mountain!

I promised my niece I'd ride Splash with her on our next trip, I've never ridden it before, she's a big fan of thrill rides she does Montu, Kumba, Sheikra, Gwazi at Busch Gardens the Incredible Hulk and others at US. she says Splash is nothing and compared it to the Flume ride at Busch Gardens what do you all think?

I think you'll be just fine. Splash is very tame compared to just about any "thrill" ride. One drop and it's over in a blink. I'll bet you'll want to ride it again. It's got a great story and beautiful interior while you float to your doom. JK! Truly nothing to be scared of. Enjoy!

My 5 year olds just survived it so I'm sure you will too. It really isn't very scary.

You may need to sit down after to let your stomach return to its usual position...

And you may be a bit damp... Or really wet...

I just wish one could enjoy the cuteness without the drop. A fork in the road, perhaps...

It's a "beginner" thrill ride. For the vast majority of the time, you're floating along past scenes & animatronics, just like you are in IASW. Then there are a couple of insignificant dips, like in POTC.

Finally, there's one large hill, that you are completely finished with in under 5 seconds.

The rest of the time it's just a regular ride. They let toddlers on it. The only reason there are lap bars at all is because idiots kept trying to climb out of their logs mid-ride, for reasons unknown to anyone except said idiots.

Splash is nothing in comparison with major roller coasters like you've listed.

I love thrill rides and the bigger/higher/faster the better. To me, Splash Mt is so tame I don't even consider it a thrill ride. There are a couple little dips here and there and one moderately fast drop toward the end. It's incredibly tame compared to all the rides you mentioned. I say give it a try! It's only a few minutes out of your life, you certainly WILL survive and if you absolutely hate it, you never have to do it again. But who knows ... you just might love it!

It is really pretty tame. You will be fine just sit back and enjoy a nice ride with Briar Rabbit!

Any tips on how to ensure "a bit damp" versus "really wet"? If we ride it the first day my girls will be decked out in princess dresses, and we'd really rather not end up soaked...

Glad I saw this thread. I'm split 50/50 on whether or not to ride this because drops of any type scare me so much. How does the drop in Splash Mt. compare to the drop in Kali River Rapids? I've been on Kali multiple times. Just wondering how different it feels from Splash Mt?

Close your eyes and count to 3. Then the scariest (or most fun!) part is over!

Sit in the back,on the left side to avoid getting super wet. A waterfall will get those on the right wet. The ride itself is very tame!

Thanks for the responses! I've ridden the flume ride at Busch Gardens and was ok with it how does it compare to that ride? It's called Stanley Falls I think.

I skipped riding it the first time with my kids because I thought it would be too much. The second trip my 7 yr old insisted I ride once and I totally regretted not riding it on the first trip!!!! It is pretty tame but a lot of fun so I say GO! You may decided to ride it a few more times.
