Our Final Meal of the Trip was Courtesy of Delta Airlines!

This isn't anything exciting...it just delayed the inevitable of having to finish this review.

So on with the final chapter of my DR.

We were fortunate enough to fly 1st class this trip due to cashing in some frequent flier miles. The prospect of having a meal served was quite exciting. However, for this particular flight it wasn't all that wonderful but at least it was food!

Our first flight segment didn't involve a meal but I did get this cool cocktail served in-flight!

Bloody Mary:

Once in MN we changed planes and with the next flight segment they served dinner Ė errr something that resembled dinner. We were given a choice of chicken pot pie or a sandwich. I chose door number 1 and went with the pot pie. It certainly smelled good as it was heating in the galley. However, it looked less than appetizing when it was served.

Chicken pot pie:

Entire meal:

The chicken skin was limp and hanging off the meat and looked about as unappetizing as if they had set a plate of grub worms dressed in parsley in front of me. It didnít taste as bad as it looked mostly because it was so over-seasoned with salt that you didnít really know what you were eating. I ate the puff pastry which was good and a few bites of the chicken without the skin but at least the salad was good Ė tiny but good. Since I donít like Tiramisu, I just picked at the non-coffee layer and then ended by eating the roll which was likely the best part of the meal.

During the flight they also came around with a basket of snacks. I love the Walkers Shortbread - these are always delicious.

There is one final chapter that I need to post since some of you eagle eyes have picked up on the fact that, YES, we do have another WDW trip booked for early next year. I'll share the plans and more importantly the dining line up!!

Thanks to all of you that have hung in there with this very drawn out DR!

Brenda, I have to say that is the most disgusting chicken pot pie I have ever seen. I think Delta needs to stick with sandwiches.

Can't wait to hear about your upcoming trip!

Just in case the world does come to an end tomorrow , I just wanted to let you know tonight how much I enjoyed reading your dining report. Sadly I haven't always had the time to comment after each installment, but I was always there in spirit.

So anyway...Bravo, my friend, for a job well done! You scored more points than I could possibly count.

Hi Alysa! I hope all is well with little Robert!

Yes, another trip is the perfect remedy to coming to the end of a TR/DR! More to follow on our next trip soon....

Yeah, the food wasn't so good for that dinner on the plane. But I do like their snacks.

Ha! You are very observant Rachel! The gravy for the pot pie was a "beef" gravy of sorts... at least I think so.

I wish my trip was early January because then i could say hi to you! We are going in February. I hope your plans are falling into place. What a great way to get a trip to WDW and be able to consider it business.

Thanks so much Kathy. You have such an epic following here on the Dis that I am completely honored to count you as a follwer of my humble review. Of course, I love that you have back-to-back reviews to keep me entertained as well.

hi AvasMommy! That's a great way that you described the pot pie - it doesn't look first class.

And yes, I'm still working on my TR. But it is exciting to look forward to another trip.

Hi Barb! It's looking good since it is the 21st in most of the world and I haven't seen my late night programming interrupted to let me know the end is here!!

No worries about not being able to comment for every update... my goodness, I think you have about 15 updates that you do EVERY DAY for everyone else' reviews.

This was fun and you certainly gave the inspiration for what has evolved into the live dining thread. I'm thrilled to be a small part of that evolution into something so huge here!

Take care! [inert hug emoticon that disappeared]
