I wish the one I had looked 1/2 as good as the picture in the link! Mine was a watery mushy affair with small flecks of pinkish-what-I-think-they-called-lobster! Definately not what one could call good eats....

I have never, ever returned a meal at WDW: until the lobster roll!!
It's not that it was bad, it was just absolutely 100% without taste! How is that even possible
I thought perhaps I was just being a Picky Nicky, but DH said the same thing; so sad

Being from New England that picture makes me want to cry. That looks absolutely horrible! I prefer a hot lobster roll more than a cold one, but that doesn't even look like a cold one!

If you like mayo and seafood salads like I do, it's good. VERYYYY loaded!

Now if you want a "Real" lobster roll, I came across a food truck in DtD across fro Raglan Rd that advertises it serves "real" Maine lobster rolls. Dunno if it's good - didn't try it as it doesn't take DDP. Looked cool though!

I thought it was really good, for the price you pay. I enjoyed eating it and when we go back to MK i will order another one.

I like the lobster sliders at Crew's Cup in Yacht Club.

It's part of the charm
They go through some serious mayo there

I tell you between the lobster roll & the tuna sandwich they go through some serious mayo there! It seems to be worst the later it gets, the tuna salad gets looser and looser and the lobster roll chunks seem to disappear!

I don't think they should advertise it as a lobster roll, it is more of a lobster salad! I've had it where it was really packed with lobster chunks and then I've had it when it wasn't as satisfying!

That's interesting and actually makes sense. They probably pull it out of some container - the stuff at the top is less mayonnaise-y and when they get to the bottom, where all the "juice" settles, that's when it's probably gloppier. We always go to lunch there early (like 11:00-ish), so maybe that's why we thought it was good.

Thanks for the tip - in the future I will order again if it's early, and maybe not if it's late!

Related... Is the one at Tomorrowland Terrace any good/better/same thing? I feel like I read somewhere it was slightly better, but I'm not sure that they would change much just a little bit across the park!

The bun looks right, but that is definitely lobster salad on a roll - not an actual lobster roll. A good lobster roll will have very little mayo and absolutely no other fillers at all (like celery, onion, etc.) - just pure, delicious lobster meat, tossed lightly in mayo and stuffed into a toasted roll.

I think someone else mentioned this... but if you go into it thinking "lobster salad on a roll - YUM!" instead of thinking "authentic lobstah roll" you might be a-ok!

Unless, of course, you are in Connecticut.

Ahhhh... you guys have my mouth watering. I'm going to Boston next month and will be rushing over to Neptune Oyster for the hot roll.... **salivates**

I'll try the Tomorrowland Terrace cold roll for fun, but there's just no comparison. Luke's in NYC was pretty good though!

MY DH has not been happy with the not so positive reports

He thinks he will just have to settle for the Lobster Burger (forget official name) over at the GF cafe!

I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor, I was back to pondering my mortality.

If you thought the other pic made it look bad then here is a close up shot. I was not a fan....no taste whatsoever!
