I am looking for a place to walk at WLV. Any ideas?
Thanks.

The map is a good one. The trail that runs along the bus stop area then ventures towards Ft. Wilderness. Its about 1 mile, sometimes you see deer along the path. The other path is sandy and a bit tougher to navigate for exercise.

That's a really pleasant walk (on the paved walkway). Then you can continue walking over at Fort Wilderness, too.

And sometimes opossums! We rented a surrey bike one time and were completely surprised as the opossum crossed in front of us.

I have seen an armadillo up close and personal, but he was in the bushes at WL. We were walking back from the main lobby to the villas and saw him along the walkway, right on the edge in the bushes. He looked like a possum with a shell on his back

If you look at the map included in dvcterry's link, it doesn't do a good job of showing the nature trail which also starts at bike rental shop. It's the path that follows Bay Lake and then hooks up with the red-dash path. You don't actually have to hook up to the indicated path; if you stay on the sandy trail as it follows Bay Lake, it will wind up at a parking lot for CMs at FW whose entrance comes out near the stables. I prefer this sandy nature trail path to the paved one as it's generally quieter and devoid of the buses that occasionally come by belching exhaust fumes. I once saw a hawk sitting on the ground with a field mouse in its talons. It didn't fly away until I got about 15 feet away. Either path you choose, however, is about a mile one way, and as mentioned, you can walk around FW, as well, which is especially fun at Christmas.
