Thanks! That makes sense!

The landscaping/theming really ties the whole resort together to give you the feel of an island getaway. My DH and kids would be the first to complain about a long walk anywhere but everyone really enjoys walking the pathways around the resort as the lush foliage and tiki torches make you feel relaxed....each walk feels special Can't help with the king bed question but definitely request Rapa Nui.

My thoughts are this. If you request one specific longhouse and rooms are not available, the assigner has no real info on preferences. I would request 3rd floor, near quiet pool. That would put you in Rarotonga, Tokelau, or Samoa. Each is near the pools, GCH and bus stop and all are on the TTC side of the marina for quicker walks to board the monorail to Epcot. Beds? Well, any room will have plenty of space for the 3 of you including a pack-n-play if needed. I am not sure you would want the little one on a pull-out sofa as bed rails usually don't fit well on those types of beds (assuming the 2 yr old needs rails). I am also not sure if the King bed rooms will have an occupancy over 2 people but maybe someone else would have more insight on that.
Interesting thought about the rails. She definitely doesn't need a pack n play this time around... But I didn't think about the rails not fitting properly... Thank you!

I agonized for weeks before making my reservation about my requests. Deciding upon the Fiji Longhouse and 1st floor Patio was easy but choosing Luau Cove or Marina side was the hard part. I finally booked and went with the Luau Cove side. 7 plus Months to wait so who knows I may change yet.

I think I read that Fiji will have King rooms but I will wait and see, since there are just two of us we might end up in one.

How many things can we request in the online check in? I don't remember doing it in December! I think 3rd floor in Rarotonga will be priority and if we can get a king that will be last in line.... But as I write that I'm still not sure! It would be nice I have only the one bed to give Dd2 extra play space! But how much will we really be playing in the room... Still unsure!

I just completed online check-in this morning. I had not put in any requests prior to today. I was allowed to check two boxes so I chose the buildings I preferred as opposed to balcony, etc.

We have snow in AR today so I am especially looking forward to our vacation in 60 days!

I understand online check-in allows you 2 requests. I have never done online check-in not sure if I will this time or not but I put my requests in when I book and then call and check to make sure they are listed 7-10 days before I arrive.

Used a TA this time not sure but I know my requests have been made so fingers crossed.

I heard that some of the room at the Poly have recently been remodeled. Is this true and if so which type of rooms?

From the pictures that I have seen, I am dying to stay at the Poly. Is it worth doing a one night stay there? Thanks!

Sorry, I have stayed there 3 times but never requested it/not sure. I remember getting it at GF!

Just went to first page of thread, post #12 says available upon request through housekeeping. Yeah!

As many times as we've been to The World (and the Poly), we've never done online check-in. I notice you can now check-in at the 60 day mark rather than 10 days prior to arrival. Can someone please enlighten me as to what the benefits of checking in 60 days before your arrival is?
