We are checking into the Poly on May 21st for 4 nights and then we will move on to Universal for 2 nights. This is our second time to stay at the Poly and third Disney trip. Last March, we stayed in Rarotonga and really like the location. We spend from morning until night in the parks so location to the GCH for monorail service was our main priority. I am also debating which longhouse to request during online checkin. I am hopeful Rarotonga will be finished! Samoa sounds wonderful too.

I just booked a room yesterday at Poly for 9/28-10-6, and the King Bed request box was on the CM's Request list.

I just did the checkin from My Disney Experience, and it wasn't on those checkboxes. I'll have to trust my travel agent requested that.

We are going last week October...first time at poly...my six year old requested this resort as the tiki torches fascinate him. Ha!

I am wondering about long houses to request...

Our priority is:

1. Room condition (have any been remodeled recently)
2. Proximity to counter Service
3. Proximity to main pool

We will be walking to monorail or buses every day, swimming two afternoons, and napping in the room with toddler! Hence my priorities!

Are you able to purchase adult beverages from Tambu Lounge to go? Would like to make a cocktail run after kids are drift off to sleep so that my wife and I can watch fireworks from room and decompress

Booked our November stay at be Poly yesterday now the planning can commence! We are so excited, first time staying at the Poly!

Tambu lounge is one of my fav spots! I have often asked to have my drink put in plastic so I can walk the grounds. I do this instead of getting it outside because they make the drinks better. You can also order some drinks via room service.

Samoa is what I would recommend for you too! It meets all of your requirements ... it's currently under refurb, it's very close to the GCH and right beside the volcano pool and the quiet pool (you should specify which side if you make a request)!

I definitely think Rapa Nui, Tokelau, and Tahiti are your best choices. These longhouses all have slightly larger rooms which will be great given 5 people. I believe all the longhouses will now have dual sinks in the bathroom. I am very interested to see the first pictures from these longhouses after the remodel to see if they keep the 2 armchairs in the rooms or ??? (the other longhouses have one armchair)

Just booked Spirit of Aloha for our trip in July. Booked the early show. Couldn't resist as we were watching footage on YouTube and DD2 said " I wanna do that!" Thoughts on the show? Food? I have read lots of mixed reviews. Thanks!

The closest you will get to beachside is in Fiji. One side faces the marina and the other side mostly faces the beach inlet closest to the GF. Both sides of Fiji are garden view. I wouldn't worry too much about location, the boys(and the adults) will have fun anywhere at Poly. There really are VERY few rooms with poor views at Poly. The longhouses each have their own location personalities with great attributes. We stayed in Tokelau and loved the garden views, larger rooms, and the proximity to the TTC and bus stop. When we stayed in Aotearoa, we loved people watching(visitors going to the luau), the luau music in the evenings, and best of all.....we had a view of the castle through a wispy tree for the price of garden view
