What to do the first day ... flight arrives at 11:45am.

Our flight arrives at 11:45am on Saturday, Nov. 10. Should we add another park visit to our trip (such as visit Magic Kingdom) or should we just spend the day at Downtown Disney? Any other suggestions? We will have a car rental. We are visiting Epcot the following day, then Discovery Cove, SeaWorld, & Islands of Adventure. THANKS so much for your advice!

Our flight lands at 10 am. We decided we're going to do Epcot that day, since we are staying at Boardwalk. If our room isn't ready when we check in (I'm sure it won't be!), it's an easy walk back when we get the text that it's ready.

According to your post, the only WDW park you will be visiting this trip is Epcot.

What kind of tickets are you buying?

1) When we were non-Florida residents, we frequently arrived late afternoon.
2) We had a preferred approach that worked wonders.
. . . we checked-in
. . . put things away if the room was ready, strolled if not
. . . after getting into the room, we had a bite to eat
. . . we then went to Epcot Future World
3) The idea with Epcot-FW is that folks were in the World Showcase.
4) This left a lit of rides with shorter lines, or no lines.
5) We, then, left other parks as full-days.

I am planning to buy a "Combo Special" ticket through my employer's benefits (tickets at work.com). The tickets are $164/adult and include:

* One-Day Admission at Walt Disney World ® (one theme park of your choice)
* One-Day Admission at Universal Orlando (Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure)

On our next trip, we're doing a Fantasmic meal package at HS.

Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 10:30 am and the meal is scheduled for 3 (with the show at 6:30).

Hopefully, we'll have at least an hour or so to hang out at the resort pool prior to needing to head over to HS.

I don't know if I could only do one day at Disney & just Epcot. I think my DH & not my kids would freak out.

I think you should add a park to experience it. Maybe Magic Kingdom.

This is just my opinion.

Have a wonderful vacation !!

I would also check to see if MVMCP is going on on your arrival night. You could always buy tickets for that instead of adding another park day to your current tickets. If it is going on MK closes early for the party guests. Then you would have to visit a different park that day because it wouldn't be worth the money if you could only stay a few hours.

What about a water park? Coming in from a cold area that might be fun for everyone...

Not sure I could do one day at Disney without being voted out of the family!. Since you only have one day, I would suggest Downtown Disney and maybe going to the Polynesian at night and watch the wishes/party fireworks from the beach on the day of your arrival. You can also check the water pageant schedule to watch that from the beach as well. Have a great vacation!

Are you staying at a Disney Resort? MK has late EMH that night for resort guests, which will give you more hours to enjoy the park, but it also means the park will be more crowded than normal and it's already more crowded with limited nights for evening entertainment due to the MVMCP. If you're willing to brave the crowds and you can add the day to your ticket, I'd go here.

AK closes too early to make that worth the money.

Hollywood Studios has early EMH that day, so it will also be more crowded than normal, BUT you have Fantasmic and the Osborne Lights to enjoy in the evening. So this would be an okay choice for an extra day as well.

Water parks close at 5:00 that time of year, so it may not be worth the money considering it would probably be close to 2:00 before they could get there.

Thanks, everyone, for your advice! I will have to bring up all these options with me family! We could do Aquatica as I do have free tickets to there with our DC purchase. I just assumed it might be too cold in November. Then after that we could head to a show or Downtown Disney ... ?

I would say that I'd check in, check out the resort, etc, maybe go for a swim, and spend some time at DTD, MK would probably be crowded as it's a Saturday, but that's just my opinion
