A Relaxing Evening in the Studios

Soundtrack: Animation Courtyard Area Music
After that depressing meal we wanted to do something we knew was a sure bet. So off to animation academy we went. It was raining so it was very busy inside.

The line for AA was a bit long and we had to wait the full 30 minutes. That was fine with us because we where tired and didn't feel like getting wet (Remember this, it'll be important later). This great cast member started doing a trivia game. It was a lot of fun and stopped a lot of the grumbling amongst people in line. Time flew and then we drew.

We met another friend on the way out. He loved Jess's Tshirt. We actualy had a good interaction with him. He mimed out holding Simba and I told him it's a good thing he didn't drop him then he looked at me funnyly and hit his forehead.

Unfortunately, it was still raining and we where still tired and actualy kinda hungry. I knew the perfect spot to hit!
The Writer's Stop

We had a Carrot Cake Cookie and some kind of mocha drink and we sat for a loooong time. We browsed books for a little while too. Just waiting for the rain to stop. It was moderately busy but we found a place to sit with no problem. It was a great place to relax.

The rain had finally stopped so we decided that it was finaly safe to go out without getting wet (remember this too). So we decide to try a ride we had never done before.
The backlot studio tour.
I figured it would be a nice relaxing way to spend some time before Fantasmic. We got in line but didn't make it into the first show but we where quite close to the front when they stopped letting people in.

I was taking pictures of the boat when I heard.
"We are looking for volunteers"

Well I knew that the key was to raise your hand high and show enthousiasm and BOY DID IT WORK. I forgot to ask Jess if she was interested but too late cause we where being whisked back stage!!! WOOHOO! I knew that there was a scene with water effects and I knew that someone was going to get drenched but that's it ( so much for avoiding the rain). So they bring us (me, Jess and another volunteer) to this little cabin to the side of the stage. There is a locker there to put your stuff and they tell us to suit up in these blue rain pants, jacket and boots. Then they ask for a Leader, someone who will remain calm in a storm (we let the other guy take that job). Then they ask for a mechanic (Jess volunteers) and that leaves me as the comic relief. The nice CM tells us what our rolls are and then we walk out in front of the crowd. Unfortunately, I have no pictures but I found a video on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkkZeHzeRZU

It was a lot of fun and was actually the biggest adrenaline rush of the day.

Then we lined up for the actual tour.

and then....we where hungry again. I really think that 50's missed the spot completely so we stopped by Bill and Min's Dockside Diner for a caesar salad stuffed baguette (not the real name). It came with chips as a side, we had a cookie for dessert and a water bottle. We found a nice table by Echo Lake and sat down for a second supper.

It was satisfying but nothing spectacular.

We watched the sun set over Echo Lake and I had fun taking pictures.

What are we going to do after all that relaxing? Tune in later tonight for another update.

Relaxing evening at DHS part 2 Pre-Fantasmic

Soundtrack: Fantasmic PreShow Loop I adore the upbeat disney Mania songs that play before F! We don't usually wait in line so I only catch the end but it's one of my study playlists at home.

So when we left off we had just finished relaxing near Echo lake with a caesar salad baguette and a nice sunset. What silly adventured where we going to get ourselves into next?

More Relaxing of course!
We crossed the road to 50's Tune in lounge. The floor where freshly waxed and there where plenty of spots at the bar. We grabbed a chair and Jess grabbed a cold one.

Afterwards I took a few more shots of Echo Lake.

Then we where off to repeatedly ride...

Seriously, I can never get enough of this ride. I think normal elevators are boring in comparison.

I have rarely had to wait more then 20 minutes for TOT. The longuest line I've seen stops and the fountain outside.

Jess then had to go to the washroom so I took some fun night time pictures.

The line for RnRc was too long and I didn't feel like waiting so we went to see if TSMM was a possibility (it wasn't DuH!) so we went for the next best thing.

Now we still had some time to waste before stumbling into F! (We usually walk in at the last minute and grab whatever spot we can. I HATE that sweaty miserable line.) Guess what we did?

By this point the Fantasmic pre-show was just about to finish so we walked up to the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater and found a good spot to watch
FANTASMIC!!!!

A Relaxing Evening in the Studios Part 3

Soundtrack: Fantasmic!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Nighttime Shows. Its the perfect way to end a magical day.

So I now invite you to join me and experience Fantasmic. A journey beyond your wildest imagination.

Good seats

Some imagination eh!

We had originally planned to hop over to Epcot but decided it wouldn't be worth it. We did however make a pit stop somewhere before going to bed.
BONUS SONG: I Just Can't Wait to be King (and be able to afford an AoA Suite

It's a beautiful resort, there's not doubt about it.

I think it's kind of funny how you guys were trying to avoid the rain, yet volunteered for the backlot tour...but fun!

I'm also really excited to venture in to the Writer's Stop, it looks so comfortable/cozy there.

I've seen Fantasmic! 3 times, I think, and I absolutely ditest waiting in that line! So much so that I probably won't do it again any time soon. I think the show is neat, but so not worth waiting an hour for.

Glad to see you guys got to ride ToT plenty of times It looks like you guys had an awesome day, despite the 50's fiasco and the rain

It was a great day. I really love everything DHS has to offer.

I thought it was ironic too but it was a LOT of fun. I'm a very shy person so it definitely got the adrenaline pumping. Jess is the one that got hit by the wall of water so that must of been an experience. I wish I could of seen her get hit.

Writer's stop is great and usualy not busy and PLEASE have the carrot cake cookie. It is delicious.

Yeah, F! is great but not worth waiting in that line. We always walk in at the last minute and get good seats regardless so don't give up on the show :P

btw, you must be freaking out!!! Your wedding is like in less then 2 weeks right?

Loved loved loved the pic of you guys on ToT, too funny. WAY braver than me!
Great Fantasmic! pictures too. I'm not a huge fan of that show, but I do love that Mickey stars in it.

I just subscribed to your thread. It's great that you had so much fun. It seems all of your days are packed with great stuff. I absolutely LOVE fantastic, it is my favorite show at WDW. And I ride ToT until the last minute. It is the best drop ride I've been on.

Yeah, the backlot tour is not a good way of staying dry but it was awesome . I love taking redneck pictures of ride pics. Everyone's expressions are always so different. F! is not my favorite of the nighttime shows but I do enjoy it. Besides, I propose to Jess after it got rained out last year so it kinda has a special place in my heart :P.

Hey Welcome aboard! Any fan of TOT is a friend of mine. It is one of the best themed thrill rides in my opinion. I love it.

Our days where jam packed because this was a shorter trip. We would not of been able to keep going at that pace for a whole week that's for sure. Thanks for subscribing.

I'm going away for an internship for a 6 weeks so I may not be able to post as much during that time. Don't worry I'll be back with an awesome post when I get the chance. It's going to be about our Jam packed MK day where we do Kona, Peco's and Cali Grill. Thanks for reading and commenting

We will be sure to have at least one carrot cake cookie even if we have to run over on our last day to get it!

Maybe we'll re-consider not doing F! this time, since you guys were able to get good seats last-minute.

And yeah, we're down to the wire now...just 5 days left! I think we'll be okay though, it's just picking up the last-minute decoration stuff and getting the music all together. I can't believe how the time has flown by, it's crazy! A week from today we'll be married AND be in Disney!

Our lunch at 50s prime time was less than stellar, I was so disappointed. I was really looking forwards to it and our waitress was a complete dud. I keep meaning to write a letter to Disney just to say the experience should be the same for all, but never to get around to it. Our food was great. I had the pot roast. I would def like to give it another chance.

I agree that 50's is inconsistent. I find it bizarre that a CM would work at 50's and not feel comfortable playing the part. The food is good though, you're right. I think in the future if I want something from 50's well just pop by the Tune-In Lounge.

When I came to check on your TR I thought for sure you'd be done by now, but I'm glad to see I didn't miss much...but that means you've been MIA for a while ...I hope you come back to finish this TR! I also hope that school has been going well!
